Good food good service, my friend found her food spicy so they got her a whole new dish without the spice. Our starters were also late and we'll all got a class of carva while we waited. Very good service

We booked Zizzis as a party of 7 for a birthday celebration. On presenting a voucher emailed to ourselves from Zizzis, for a free bottle of prosecco we were told it wasn't available and we asked if could upgrade the offer and pay the difference, this was not an option. Eventually at our suggestion!, it was agreed we could have a bottle of red wine as an alternative. Although it took us a while to order our food, we were left sat for just over an hour waiting for our food to arrive, again at our suggestion we were given some complimentary bread. We could have understood the delay if the restaurant was busy this was not the case. Overall when the food did arrive it was good, no complaints there.

When we walked in we were not acknowledged by any of the waitress' or bar staff for a good 3-4 minutes even though there were behind the bar. When we did get seen to the waitress placed us on a table in the corner in which we had to walk around prams and high chairs, then she dumped the menus and walked off without saying anything. I had to asked to be moved as the area wasn't a comfortable eating area. We waited 10 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink and when they were brought one of the drinks were wrong and had to be changed. We got our starters after 25mins which we could not fault as me and my partner both enjoy them. When the main meal came we thought they were ok nothing that wow'ed us. Not once during the meal were we asked if everything was OK or if we were enjoying our meal. In summary the customer service was shocking and the staff there walked round with miserable faces like they didn't want to be there. I couldn't give any names as it wasn't shown on my receipt.

Restaurant was very understaffed which somewhat spoilt our meal. We sat down at 7.30pm and didn't receive our starters until 9.15pm. Our poor waiter was running around all night. On the plus side our food was very nice.

Good food and good service (although an extra member of staff would have been helpful), good atmosphere. Pasta portions are a little large for a normal appetite.

The owl decor was mildly unsettling, but I quite liked the pale wood and burnished chrome combo. Our server was very sweet and timely, if a little lacking in areas of technique (wine pouring) but I would be happy to be served by her again.

We had the gnocchi to start which tasted of little, as with the Frito miso which I had, it wasn't seasoned at all. The Frito miso was incredibly bland, the best part was actually the courgette as it tasted of something.

Our calzones were nice enough, although I had requested the ndjuna sausage in my mushroom calzone and it actually turned up my girlfriend's. I'll always complain there weren't enough mushrooms in any situation. My girlfriend's had filling in the middle but nothing at all towards the edges which was quite a large portion of the pizza. The rosemary balance was really good, not so strong as to be flowery.
Both stars below are for the mains. I feel a little robbed by the starters, the Frito miso particularly.

I enjoyed both the wines we had with the meal, the chianti was a little softer than I was anticipating but enjoyable, the viognier very drinkable.

It was handled well when we mentioned the mistake.

Over all I think the experience felt like a fair representation of zizzi as a chain. We shan't be coming back unless there are no better options. Or, as with this case, we have vouchers.

Came to Leeds for a weekend away with my boyfriend , spent a good 40 minutes finding somewhere to eat on Google before we saw zizzi! Thought we would try it and we are so glad we did!
Lovely staff, lovely place! And the food was simply heavenly! You have to try the fondue starter! It's incredible! We both had pasta dishes carbonara! Was soooo good! The boyfriend had meatballs but the only downside was they was pulled, so didn't actually come across as meatballs! ... But he still enjoyed it! Was just a fab experience!!

My husband really enjoyed his pizza but the particular wine he wanted was not available. I chose spiedini pescatore which I had enjoyed twice before. However, this time, although the prawns were tender and juicy they lacked any flavour.I love the herby potatoes, which are served with this dish. The courgettes were also quite bland. Perhaps it has passed the season for these ingredients. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. We have often eaten at Zizzi in Leeds but also know that if we find one in another town or city, the quality will be the same high standard.
