Not far from the bustle of Camden Market, Zensai is an individual restaurant and bar serving an intoxicating concoction of Indo-Malaysian cuisine. Food is served in the mezzanine restaurant, and award-winning cocktails are mixed in the basement bar. The retro-chic reception area is made up of a monumental mirror ball, red leather seating and mirrored walls, which leads up to the intimate restaurant filled with softly-lit Vietnamese lanterns.

The bar's centre piece is a handmade crystal bar top, featuring one of the largest selection of spirits this side of Mayfair. Zensai's chefs pride themselves on their fresh, vibrant and flavoursome dishes, while the cocktail bar serves classic cocktails with a twist.

Zensai has been awarded Mixologist of the Year 2010 and 2011, Best Late Night Bar 2010 and 2011, and Best Themed Restaurant 2011 at the London Food & Drink Awards.

I came to Zensai last saturday for a friends birthday. We sat down for dinner at 8:30pm after having some fantastic cocktails in bar which is based on the lower level. The food was great and the cocktails amazing. The staff was fantastic and was very accommodating and helped us with everything we needed.

Makes for a fun and very satisfying evening. Cocktail list usually entraps me into a prolonged aperitif. Having travelled in Malaysia, the authenticity of the cuisine makes for a culinary journey in itself; a great marriage of many flavours with soul warming servings. The service has always been excellent, clearly a staff that enjoy working there. And why wouldn't they? The ambiance of the place is fun. The quirky and cultivated decor feels lovingly done and the vibes always pleasing.

I was in Camden on a Saturday evening with my girlfriend, she got hungry and wanted food ,so as i'm a great boyfriend i took her to a really nice restaurant instead of your normal fast food shop cause lets be honest there is a'lot in that area, anyways the restaurant was called Zensai that was reasonably priced,we went there around 7.30, they served Malaysian and Indonesian food which was really tasty and fresh, we both had a three course meal, the staff was very friendly and they told us that Zensai is also a club, so next time we will check out the club, had a great time dinning there and my girlfriend thought i was a legend.

Ate there last Saturday as a table of 20 Completely faultless, really nice staff ,who really seamed to enjoy looking after was fantastic, but not reccomended for people who don't love the heat. Cocktails were the best I've had in years.

having spent several years based in singapore,i often long for the taste of the far east.I moved to camden recently and came across zensai and have dined there 3 times this year already. The food is simply amazing,a lot of camden restaurants seem to trade on the tourists,so dont try too hard, whereas the food and service in zensai is sure to keep the locals coming back time and time again

a group of 12 of us ate there on saturday for a birthday. really great place with friendly staff and nice atmosphere. a few of us have been to malaysia and we all agreed that the food was truly could tell all the dishes were cooked fresh ,the aromas of lemongrass, ginger and chilli were a real treat for the senses. after dinner we had an area reserved in the bar,and happily drank our way through the extensive cocktail list and danced into the wee small hours.a great night out
