Very disappointing. The steaks we ordered were cold. They forgot parts of our order and we had to request them multiple times. Don't believe I'll be returning.

Party of 4 for brunch. Good food. Didn't bring a piece of fruit for baby when asked. A bit rushed and were asked to leave as they needed the table.

We were a party of six and booked afternoon tea for early afternoon on a public holiday. We were seated in an area which was being waited upon by the manager. However, the service was unbearably slow and inattentive. Once we were seated, we waited 10 minutes before we were provided with two menus (as they had run out for the time being) and the choice of teas differed on the menus. The manager was slow in taking our order and got them mixed up when serving us our tea. When the food finally arrived, we had expected our high tea to be served in the 3 tier stands (part of the pleasure in taking tea) but were instead told that for parties of greater than 4, wooden platters would be used instead. The food was underwhelming, in particular the scones which we all agreed were overcooked, burnt and hard on the outside rather than a crunchy and crispy. The clotted cream was thin and bland. The sandwiches were fine but the macaroons and mince pies were overly sweet. Very disappointing indeed. They had left out one macaroon for the party and we waited another 10 minutes for this to arrive. We then waited too long again for some hot water and finally, the bill. When I complained about the slow service to the manager, he didn't apologise and seemed indifferent to our concerns instead just miffed that I had asked to remove the service charge. The manager's apathy towards his customers was clear from the lack of ambience of the restaurant; we received no warmth or hospitality from the staff and the food was mediocre.

Beautiful inside and out. Very disorganised even with very few full tables. What weren't going to be allowed to have afternoon tea even though I booked the table on afternoontea.co.uk. Eventually we were allowed but the food was plain and bland. Overall a disappointment.

There were 4 of us for Christmas tea. Everything was amazing. The scones were still warm and the sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I've tasted.

The meal was superb. We both had the suggested lunch menu of salmon with dill potatoes and then a pasta with venison ragout, accompanied by an excellent wine by the glass from the Duero.the service was first glass, so hats off to the chef and the maitre d. I will definitely recommend the restaurant to friends and colleagues.

Dining experience was very good but service was slow and waiters seemed very busy and distracted by other tables and tasks. Certainly think there were not enough waiters. Dishes were not all placed together and we had to wait about 2/3 mins before last two plates arrived. Food was excellent. Our guests best two dishes were the bone marrow burger and the watercress pesto tagliatelle which were both exceptional. Shame there was no main specials to choose from. Please to be allocated a round table for my booking of 6.
