A traditional pub on the village green, the Wiveton Bell near Holt boasts an AA Rosette and a place in the Michelin Guide. Serving hearty British and European cuisine, the roaring fire and oak beams make for a venue brimming with character.

Start with an extravagant salad of blue cheese mousse and blowtorch-glazed figs, served with roasted hazelnuts, dandelion leaves and a vanilla and fig dressing. Amongst the mains on the Wiveton Bell menu, try partridge pie with a rich partridge jus and roasted root vegetables, or the duo of venison with spinach, celeriac purée, and a braised foraged bramble jus.

In the bar, a range of local ales can be enjoyed in front of the real fire roaring in the inglenook. In warmer weather, the south facing garden overlooks the village green, making it an idyllic spot for al fresco dining.

The Wiveton Bell in is surrounded by stunning countryside and is just a short drive from the coast.

We really enjoyed our meal. Sometimes vegetarian options can be a bit sad but the flavours were spectacular. Peaceful ambience, friendly service.

Went on New Years Eve for dinner. Pub looked lovey - very festive and warm with a lovely atmosphere. Party hats, streamers and balloons on each table added to the occasion (although not compulsory to wear the hats!). Service was efficient and friendly - slightly long wait after the main course to see if we wanted anything else, but it was extremely busy so we were chilled about it as not in a rush. Food was very good. The ham hock and fish cakes for starters were just right and I got a very generous portion of pork belly for main which was delicious (but was too full to finish it). My partner had the steak which he likes very rare (blue) - again this was cooked extremely well and was very tasty. All in all we had a very good time at the Wiverton Bell and look forward to visiting again.

Starter fish cakes were lovely & light, a delight!
Main meals were succulent, potatoes from heaven!!!

Table for 5 in the bar on busy midweek evening. Food, and service were great despite the pub being very busy.
Only downside is the crass cartoons in the gents. Honestly, take them out.
