Receptionist was extremely rude on our arrival.
Afternoon tea was ok, scones very small and not very fresh.
On a positive note, the bar man was very helpful with our choice of cocktails.
Overall, not sure if I would visit again.

Unfortunately our booking had not been recorded at the restaurant, but after a few minutes with a few chats to colleagues we were found a table and were invited to sit down. Wine & drinks ordered as were the meals, the carafe of wine came promptly but we had to chase up the other drinks as we began to receive our starters.
Staff were attentive when they were at the table but were overstretched a little and sometimes difficult to catch there eye to get there attention.

The food was off a very good standard and well presented and came altogether so no one was waiting for long.

Payment appeared to be a problem as the credit card machine appeared to have to be taken to the restaurant reception desk every time as we had requested we paid via two credit / debit cards and 1/3 by cash. Eventually one of us got up and walked to the desk to chase up the transactions which were eventually sorted.

This is a very pleasant restaurant in a well laid out area and was staffed effectively if not completely efficiently, the menu caters for most people and was good value and presented well. The food was very tidy and very acceptable but as we would have expected so no real complaints.

Marks out of 10 well we give it 8 could do better on the service front.

This is our second afternoon tea in this place. We ask for the Special afternoon tea that was very good and tasty. The service was very good as well.

We had a wonderful meal nothing to find fault with and the staff were very friendly which makes the evening even better. They found out it was our wedding anniversary and bought a plate out with wording happy anniversary and two little cakes , a nice thought. We would certainly go again if we were in that area .

Lovely restaurant where we had cream tea. Only downside was having to ask three times for the milk to go with the tea.

Disappointing, far too much inedible fat on the £58 Cote de Beuf
