    Afternoon Tea:
I haven't been to the Belmont for many years and was pleasantly surprised by the attractive restaurant which, was very quiet and for a while my group of three were the only diners. My favourite sandwich was the egg on wholemeal bread. Didn't enjoy the flavourless vegetarian option or the ham on white bread. The scone was lovely. Slightly warm which added to the taste experience. The other cakes were slightly dry (especially the brownie) My personal choice would have been a stronger flavoured tea, the breakfast option was a little weak. But, It would also have been nice if we had been asked if we'd like a second pot - I'd have loved one.

I love the ambiance. We had a nice afternoon tea. We could do more tea options/selections but otherwise overall it was a good experience. The staffs we're always around to check on us what else we need.

I honestly can't praise David Ferguson enough. Exquisite food, delicately and deliciously balanced flavours and beautifully presented. Amazing value and a real gem of a find. Would love to live nearer to visit more often. Really really brilliant and also lovely service from the staff. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

would have liked the scones brought out a little later so they could be eaten whilst still warm. Music could have been more appropriate too lively for afternoon tea !

Service by Joao was good. Food was an absolute disgrace. Awful. 10 for dinner and 4 of us have food poisoning. Our poor waiter had to come and tell us the beef was not good and that we should change our orders. We chose lamb and chicken. Definitely the worst meal ever! Potatoes too hard to cut. Cold cod on one of the dishes. Gravy was like pure grease. Yorkshire puddings like rocks. Have already complained to the hotel formally but will be complaining outside of that now
