A beautiful 16th-century building, the White Hart Hotel is an intimate hideaway to enjoy modern British recipes. Housed in a former bakery, the restaurant has crackling fireplaces, chunky wooden beams, and an exposed brick bar area that serves up traditional cask ales.
The White Hart Hotel menu combines classic British gourmet recipes with inventive tweaks from around the world, resulting in a truly versatile selection of treats throughout the day. To start, there are Devon crab fishcakes with spring onion and chilli, as well as exotic tastes from India, found with the homemade onion bhaji with mango chutney. Classic dishes like Hooky Beer battered fish and chips and the 28-day aged ribeye steak are popular choices, and there are vegetarian options like butternut squash and almond risotto with poached hen's egg and rocket salad.
Diners can enjoy traditional afternoon teas at the White Hart Hotel in Oxfordshire, while on Sundays there are hearty roast dinners. For pudding, there are inventive treats like Baileys panna cotta with fresh mint jelly, and the bar has cask ales on tap alongside international beers and a fine wine selection.
Filled with cosy rustic charm and offering a great menu selection, the White Hart Hotel is a 10-minute drive from Culham Rail Station.

I visit Dorchester-on-Thames regularly but had never visited the White Hart Hotel. I dined there just before Christmas after attending the carol service at the Abbey. The whole evening was delightful. The staff at the White Hart were friendly and accommodating. We were seated in the restaurant which was lovely, a very relaxed atmosphere. The meal was delicious, unfortunately, we were unable to sample the dessert (too full) but the starter and main meal certainly were well beyond expectation. I'm looking forward to finding an excuse to visit again!
