Restaurant description

The first UK outpost of celebrity-owned Wahlburgers in London comes from the 3 Wahlberg brothers, Hollywood big-name Mark, Chef Paul and Donnie. The family-run restaurant serves up wholesome American-style recipes in a casual, convivial setting within the Grade I-listed Royal Opera House.

The Wahlburgers menu features home-grown dishes from Mom’s Sloppy Joe to rice bowls and burgers like Mark’s favourite: The Thanksgiving Turkey Burger with ground turkey, stuffing and an orange-cranberry sauce. Choose a starter of buffalo chicken wings or chili and cheese nachos while pairing mains with tater tot sides and house-made Wahl Sauce. End on a traditional apple pie or decadent cookie dough with strawberry ice cream for dessert.

Spread over 2 floors, the Wahlburgers restaurant’s walls are lined with Wahlberg memorabilia, family photos and quotes, while lively music sets the ambience. Guests can also frequent the WahlBar for adult freak shakes, wines, cocktails, beers and their own unfiltered pale ale craft beer, the Wahlbrewski.

Visit the fun-filled Wahlburgers in Covent Garden for the iconic burger menus, breakfasts, and vegan options. Find the warmly welcoming restaurant a minute's walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Overall experience was good. The food tasted nice and was promptly made. Tots were particularly nice.

This was our first time here and we were very glad we used the bookatable meal deal. You have a limited menu, but we thought this was more than adequate for the choices we had. We had a look at the main menu and we thought this was very expensive and very glad we had the deal. The food was of course as expected very American along with the portion sizes. The nachos for sharing were loaded with cheese and chilli. We also ordered the bacon burger and the salmon and rice. The dessert was a large cookie with ice cream and cream to share. We couldn't finish the dessert. With the deal you also received an alcoholic drink, again limited choice. But they would not change one of the alcoholic drinks to a soft drink, you would have had to pay extra. But the server was very good in explaining the limited menu, and she also advised instead of alcoholic drink she would ask them to make it a mocktail instead. They automatically add on service charge as they do in America, but you can say no to this and leave the tip in cash If you want to. I would only return if we could get another deal. The restaurant for the price of the meals, I felt was a little basic. There is an upstairs and a downstairs, we ate upstairs. On that floor there was only one toilet and this was for men and women.

The food was great! Portions were good, not too much. It was nicely presented, piping hot and cooked to order. We had a view of the kitchen so could see the orders coming up , which were immediately dispatched to the tables. One negative was the wait for service for drinks. Our glasses were empty for 20 minutes at one point before we were able to stop a member of staff who was passing to order more drinks. The staff however were lovely, just not enough of them!

Food in this place is horrible. Not only are the cheapest ingredients used - such as what appears as frozen burgers but also white onion on what should be a gourmet burger. Processed cheese on the nachos, yellow runny but does not melt under a grill. Potato balls are also frozen and of low quality. Overall this place has no redeeming features so when you look around the sparse surroundings within the venue and think to yourself would I feel cosy her the answer can only be no. Add to that that the food cannot be eaten and you have yourself THE worst burger joint in London
