Nice wine and meal, served promptly.
Steak was very nicely cooked: medium rare was juicy and tender. Chips and sides were also nicely done, and sensible amounts.
Would definitely return for another impromptu business meal.

Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Food was cooked to perfection, especially the beef.
Christmas menu 1 had a good variety. We liked the sharing boards. All of our needs were met - including extra custard!!

First visit - overall, a great experience. The location is a bit ho-hum and the restaurant is understated - a long thin room with a rather brown decor and the windows aren't large - so first impressions a bit off-putting. But the place is saved by attentive, cheerful and efficient staff; an interestingly varied menu; an exciting South African wine list ... and all the dishes were memorably good. Creme Brulee a highlight, but to be fair the potato-free salmon fishcake was outstanding too; and the king prawn and melon starter was delicious.

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the lunch and overall service. It felt very disjointed, with different people attending to us. There was a mix up with water and guests who had still water in their glass were topped up with sparkling water mixing the 2 and vice versa which is pretty basic in my view. There were not enough olives and bread brought to the table for all 7 guests. The aubergine starters were a little warm and didn't seem cooked through. The main was nice however. It's a shame when I brought clients to the venue as it can be a little embarrassing despite the clients politely saying they enjoyed it. I've been a number of times to this venue and am sorry to say that there has been a definite gradual decline in quality of food and service over the course of a couple of years so I won't be returning with or without clients.
