Very good experience. The only downside, was that my daughters do not drink tea or coffee, but there was no soft drink alternative to go with the breakfast pastries.

A striking food emporium in a grand Edwardian building, Villandry St James’s is a continental-style French Mediterranean restaurant. All day dining can be enjoyed in the sophisticated restaurant dining area, or in the more relaxed café space.

Sumptuous dishes on the Villandry menu include pea and ricotta risotto, grilled sea bass with salsa verde and pomegranate, and chicken supreme marinated with green harissa. Melt-in-the-mouth steaks are 28 day-aged and served simply with a choice of sauce and sides, while desserts include a wickedly tempting warm chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream.

Evoking an elegant bistro-style ambience with striking red leather banquettes and classic French décor, Villandry in St James’s offers a wide range of breakfast dishes, a laidback brunch and a select pre-theatre menu. Classic cocktails partner sophisticated wines, and there’s an enticing cake counter.

Simple modern European cuisine is executed perfectly at London restaurant Villandry, which also offers private dining. Piccadilly Circus Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Disappointing. The booking was taken for the a la carte menu in the restaurant, but only brunch was being served.

This is our third visit and I have to say the worst. In the past we’ve found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. On this occasion they were abrupt and rushed us (even thought the restaurant wasn’t overly busy). To be honest we were disappointed.

Light and airy, wonderful lunch menu. We both had seafood to start (crab and squid) - each well cooked and not overdone. A fresh and fragrant risotto for main. Only downside was the provision of toast as a replacement to gluten-free bread, not ideal but nice to see the restaurant made an effort.

Very civilised, lovely environment for a business lunch with colleagues we didn't know well. Although a beautiful, traditional interior, the service was completely the right side of efficient and non intrusive which gave a relaxed feel to the whole experience. Quite a trick! Good menu for lunch with a wide choice that will suit every taste and the food was enjoyable.

This was our first visit to Villandry. We had the choice of eating in the dining room or the bar area. We chose the bar and had a very nice table for two. The ambiance was good. The menu was good. Unfortunately I made poor choices of food. I chose the foie gras, which has a very soft, squishy trxture. Then I had the crab linguine. I love crab for its delicate flavour. I couldn't eat this because the flavour from the brown meat was so strong. My friend fared better with the burrata and the sea bass. The service was quite slow so we asked for our main course and the bill as we were eating our starters.

Booked for an early dinner before going on to another event.
Staff & Service were excellent and, despite being only given the lunch menu for a 5:30 booking, the food was all very good quality and well presented. Reasonable range of wines by the glass and carafe.
