Excellent food, excellent service, friendly staff. The bottomless prosecco and pizza is amazing value, a great place for a night with friends.

Service was good but I was quite disappointed by the food. I ordered a margherita and it was quite disappointing... I was expecting more quality from a place of this standing...

I went for breakfast here with some clients and wasn't overly impressed with it. The restaurant itself is very nice, but the service was pretty lousy. We had to keep flagging staff down as they weren't coming over to us. The food was okay; I had poached eggs on toast; the eggs were more hard-boiled than poached, and I thought it was pretty miserly that each portion was only served with one piece of toast. Seriously? Paying £7 for 2 eggs and one piece of toast? I then had the audacity to ask for another piece of toast; an extra £1 was added to my bill for the privilege, and it took about 15 minutes and 2 very disgruntled waiters before I received it.

I was sadly surprised at how average this was. No smoothies due to broken equipment, no special food or fri k really. Very average interior. Service was ok though not amazing. This felt like a really average cafe in a nice building/location. Not the special place I was hoping for on my husband birthday.

    Disappointing
I have eaten there several times before but
    Problems with kitchen
Reduced menu & then even sole not available
    food below previous standard
Fairly empty but service not great
    drinks order forgotten,
no attempt to compensate for the issues

We booked an early lunch and had a very relaxed hour or so. The service was great, as were the menu choices. The tables weren't too close together, but there was a nice buzz in the place; overall a nice ambience. The food was good; my risotto was excellent, while my partner's nicoise came with tinned tuna, which was slightly disappointing. Everything else was fresh, however, and well presented. Price was very fair for such a nice experience and would definitely go back.

I made a table reservation for the Saturday brunch (fixed menu) at 11.15 and specified in the additional information on my booking that I intended to select the Saturday brunch and without alcohol. Should this not be available, I requested to be contacted beforehand. I did not hear back.
On the day of my booking, after I arrived I was presented with only the breakfast menu. When I requested the Sunday brunch fixed menu I was told that it was not available until 11.30. However, this was not pointed out to me even with my special request at the ime of booking. I didn't want to give up so asked another member of staff what time the fixed weekend brunch was offered, this time I was told 12pm as alcohol was served with the brunch and was not permitted to serve this set brunch before noon.
Given that I specified my desire to have the Saturday fixed brunch and to be notified ahead of time that it would not be available, I received no response and when I requested clarity from two members of staff I received two different answers.
It was also misleading on the Bookatable website showing that the fixed brunch menu was available at the timeslot I requested.
The service was also very slow and I needed to request certain items more than once before they were served to me.

Despite a booking a week in advance we neither felt expected or welcomed. The reservation was confirmed for a table in the weekend area but we were led to the Bar/Cafe, past reserved tables and into one unreserved table in the corner. It rang of being plonked somewhere out of the way. You'd be forgiven for assuming you are judged in some way. Table service was friendly and efficient and whilst the food was nice it wasn't special. The worst part was the noise. More like a party bar than a quiet lunch. There's a big deal made of free flowing prosecco so I think it attracts drinkers more than diners. We were there in a Saturday lunchtime... Not a good time to go. We had made the booking based on the website. It's nothing like the photos of relaxed, white tableclothed fine dining. Expect raucous cafeteria.

Service was very good and we were kept topped up with prosecco. However I was given a Scottish five pound note as my change, and didn’t notice until I was at the train station and couldn’t use it to buy my ticket. I thought it was very sneaky as I was obviously a bit inebriated and they knew I wouldn’t notice. Based on this, it’s changed my view of the restaurant!
