Wonderful food. The servers tended to our needs all night, nothing was too much trouble.
The cheese and drunken fruit cake seemed an unusual pairing but worked amazingly!
Will be returning soon.

Starting life as a textile factory in the 1900s, Velvet is now a stunning restaurant in Manchester that has been given a bold makeover, yet retains much of its original features. This sultry spot serves modern British and international dishes all day, with a chic bar serving up fine wines and cocktails.

The Velvet menu starts off with gourmet brunches, including signature full English breakfasts, including a veggie option, moving on to lunch favourites like the fish finger sandwich in a toasted ciabatta with kaleslaw. Later in the day, the a la carte menu opens things up with hearty British flavours like pork fillet stuffed with black pudding, with other options including Caribbean fish curry, steaks from the grill, and homemade pizzas cooked in the restaurant's dedicated pizza oven.

Sunday lunch at Velvet in Manchester offers up all the trimmings, and for pudding there are truly indulgent choices such as chocolate truffle torte served with a gold shimmering profiterole. From the bar, sample a diverse wine list, international beers, and classic cocktails.

Filled with a wonderful blend of rustic traditional features and bold modern styling, Velvet is a 7-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Rail Station.

So the refit in the restaurant is lovely, and the staff are ever so friendly too, however the service was extremely slow, and my order came out wrong, it wasn’t as if the restaurant was full either only about 3 tables had people on and for a Sunday afternoon you would expect better. I’ve given 3 stars due to the friendly waitress and the refit, based on food alone it would have been a 2, the Yorkshire puds were dry and slightly on the over cooked side, no where near enough gravy and I had a huge black lump in one of my roast potatoes. I hate to say it but the roast dinner is better next door at No1 Canal St

Great table service. Full Menu a little overpriced for venue. Food 3.5/5 service 5/5. Probably would go again when new menu introduced.
