Restaurant description

An edgy urban restaurant from one of the world’s most famous chefs, Gordon Ramsay Group’s Union Street Café showcases refreshingly simple Italian cuisine. In this converted warehouse-style space, the main attraction is a theatre-style open kitchen.

Sourcing from artisan Italian producers as well as those closer to home, head chef Davide Degiovanni presents a selection of time-honoured native recipes, served with a modern twist. Wholesome recipes from the daily-changing Union Street Café menu might include chicken breast with spinach and pecorino mousse, or smoked aubergine and burrata risotto.

The trendy basement bar at Union Street Café is dotted with soft furnishings and bold art pieces, where bartenders muddle creative and classic cocktail mixes that take inspiration from the flavours of the Mediterranean.

Styled to resemble a cool, New York-style loft space, Union Street in London is a 4-minute walk from Southwark Tube Station.

We were visiting London for the week so took the opportunity to visit Union Street Cafe. The atmosphere and the staff were very good and welcoming .We went for the 4 course menu deal which was very good value and nice size portions. As for the quality of food unfortunately my egg based starter came out with the white rather runny and the wife’s main course of risotto was on the salty side but the dessert of upside down cheese cake made up for this been fantastic. Overall a good experience and will visit again.

Great setting, ambiance and lighting. Amazing food and portions. Superb friendly staff. However the desserts were not the best in comparison to other Gordon Ramsay restaurants but they didn’t dampen our enjoyment as we were truly stuffed ?? the special sangria was delicious. Although the first choice of wine wasn’t available, the second choice made it up ??

Second time here, this time lunch. 3 of us had set menu option including aperitivo I had a la carte. Great food and not huge portions but enough. Wine expensive but sommelier really knowledgable and not pushy. Definitely worth it and we’ll be back.
