Traditional food, of the highest caliber, in a gorgeous setting. We had a wonderful family Sunday lunch at Tyddyn Lan. It was refreshing to find a high class establishment that allowed children. As such, my two year old daughter was treated impeccably, even taken on a trip into the kitchen to meet the chef, then allowed to roam freely in the beautiful gardens after desert. There were no fancy foams or dry ice here. Novel and delicious as that style of cooking may be, I personally place the same esteem on a perfect duck confit, and was happy to devour the lot. We have already booked in for our next hedonistic afternoon.

We really enjoyed the 8 course taster menu especially the asparagus and mozzarella salad, the fois gras, the scallop and the sea bass. This was our first time dining at a Michelin Star restaurant and it did not disappoint!

The Hake I’m butter sauce was exceptional. Very nice reception room to have pre-dinner drink and a post dinner coffee in

I have been to Tyddyn Llan many times and as always everything -food, Service, surroundings- was spot on. The only disappointment was the fact that a 10% gratuity was added to the bill. I always give a 10% tip, but to see it already included really left a sour taste in my mouth. Although the service was extremely good, I believe it is up to the customer to decide what they want to give, and not for the establishment to assume what they think it is worth.

This was our first visit. The hotel is in a peaceful country setting with well tended mature gardens. A warm welcome was followed by pre-lunch drinks and a nice range of canapes. Sunday lunch comprised a choice of around 10 starters and six or seven mains, some of which were traditional but most of which were inventive. We had a pasta starter and a grouse starter followed by a roast beef and a hake main course. All were perfectly cooked and presented together with excellent accompaniments/sauces as appropriate. We could not managed desserts although the choice looked very attractive. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. The service was prompt and pleasant. We look forward to our next visit.
