The food does the talking

Holder of a Michelin Bib Gourmand and 2 AA Rosettes, Twelve in Thornton Cleveleys has earned a stellar reputation for its modern British food and classic cocktails. Sitting directly beneath one of the tallest working windmills in Europe, the contemporary décor provides a chic contrast to its surroundings.
Led by local and seasonal produce, the Twelve restaurant menu is packed with flavour. To start, try a pheasant terrine with caramelised walnuts and compressed apple, or the warming butternut squash soup with chilli crème fraiche. Amongst the mains, discover slow-cooked blade of beef with mash and roasted purple carrot, grilled hake with buttered spinach, steamed mussels and chive velouté, or sweet potato and spinach risotto with an onion bhaji.
Twelve Blackpool epitomises contemporary chic, with exposed brick walls, wooden flooring, and chic white furniture. With pop art prints and casual seating, the laid-back bar area serves up a range of timelessly elegant cocktails.
A glamorous seaside retreat, Twelve restaurant inLancashire is just a 5-minute drive from the coast. Central Blackpool is 20 minutes away.

This was our first time at 12 and we were thrilled. The staff are fantastic and very attentive. The food was top quality. We had a beef dish that was so delicious and came with the creamiest mash and tastiest parsnip we've ever had. The variety of both food and drinks available was great.

The food is always excellent at Twelve. We have never had a substandard meal. I was accompanied by friends who had not been to Twelve before and they were impressed. The only criticism would be that when we ordered a second bottle of wine there wasn’t another bottle of the same and so we had a different bottle which wasn’t as good. Also, for us, it is preferable to keep to the same grape.

The surf and turf is beautiful and the portions are generous. Absolutely gorgeous sauce that comes with the steak

Received a warm weelcome on arrival and we were escorted to our table, a table for three. Cosy location within the restaurant. We ordered cocktails from the long list and the restaurant obligingly made a negroni for one of my companions even though this was not on the menu. Starters scallops for my friends and beetroot cured smoaked salmon for me which was truly excellent. Mains risotto, surf and turf for my friends and slow cooked shin beef for me which came with a rich reduction. Recently found that restaurants arer hopeless at judging the size of portions. These are invariably either too much or too little (Northcote Manor). The quantaties were modest but sufficient - just right for my appetite. Ordered a bottle of Pomeral at £44 which was excellent. Desert a sort of Eton Mess was disappointing being a concoction of various elements that did little for each other. Servicve was a bit slow at the beginning but OK later. There are no soft furnishings in the restaurant so it was very noisy and we had difficuklty hearing each other as there was a large birthday patry on a table near us. Altogether though a pleasant experience, although with the exception of my smoked salmon not very memorable. Biut wpould be happy to dine there again.

The food was amazing, we went on a Sunday and had the roast, the staff couldn't do enough for us.

A positive experience, as usual. Warm welcome on arrival, attentive staff throughout. Caroline always finds time to speak to all diners no matter how busy she is, which is always appreciated. The food, as always, was innovative and superb. We always share our food, simply because we can`t resist tasting what each other have and it is difficult to choose one thing as everything is so good.

Nice pleasant staff ..Do not like dark tables would prefer one with light or candles. The food overall was good the mushroom starter was very good but the sweet filo pastry was not crispy enough and the portion was small.
