Went for Afternoon Tea in the conservatory. Booked quite a few weeks in advance when we were having the Heatwave so we were hoping the sunny days would last until our afternoon out. Sadly not. It rained persistently all day long so the outlook out to the beautiful garden was wet unfortunately. It didn’t mar the beautiful tea but it would have been nice to have continued to have more drinks at the garden tables. So we had an additional bottle of Prosecco in the lounge instead and took in the hotel surroundings. Had a lovely chilled afternoon. The staff were really friendly and attentive. There was a Wedding Reception also happening that day but still got the attention to the Tea as well.
Service didn’t falter in any way.
I would definitely recommend and could see us returning again to give it another go in the sunshine. Very pleased with it

Mary Green Manor is a historical building housing a very nice hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is candle lit and the carved wood panelling lends a pleasant ambience to the dining experience. We were welcomed to a lobby where we were served with pre-dinner drinks, together with olives, crisps and peanuts as nibbles. Our orders were taken during this time. We ordered from the table d’hote menu rather than the a la carte. Both have an extensive selection of dishes.

After a short time we were shown to our table and the first course, which was with chef’s compliments, was a small sample cup of pea and mint soup, which was delicious. This was followed by our starters, main courses and desserts. The food and the attentive service were first class, with just the right intervals between courses. We particularly remarked on the fact that the waiters did not have to ask who was having what when they served at the table. It was a well oiled machine.

We were offered coffee either at the table or in the lounge and chose the latter, a very relaxing area. The coffee was excellent and as we were finishing we paid the bill and asked reception to order a cab to take us home. This arrived within about five minutes and we had a pleasant ride home with a very courteous driver. The end to a perfect evening. Couldn’t recommend Mary Green Manor too highly!

Food, service, ambience all excellent. This really is a very good restaurant with very good food served imaginatively and with good flavours. The old baronial dining room is delight and due to layout never feels horribly busy.

Great service, good food, friendly atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at Marygreen Manor, making our afternoon tea experience for Mum's 80th birthday, a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
