We had a fantastic evening- arrived early but seated immediately. Service was excellent but unobtrusive and the food was as special as we expected. it was a fabulous evening - thank you Marcus Wareing and team.

A winner of AA’s London Restaurant of the Year, Tredwells Covent Garden is set over 3 floors and serves seasonal menus showcasing the very best in British produce with global flavours.

Developed by chef patron Chantelle Nicholson, who has worked alongside Marcus Wareing since moving to London in 2004, Tredwells boasts a variety of menus. Creative and delicious plant-based dishes take inspiration from, and feature in, Chantelle’s debut cookery book ‘Planted’ meaning all dietary restrictions, intolerances and tastes are catered for.

The Tredwells wine list has been carefully curated to showcase both Old and New World styles and varieties. Classics feature alongside exciting biodynamic and organic wines to create an impressive selection.

    Booked for a romantic meal with my husband. Enjoyed my starter of torched mackrel Husband said the scallops were pretty bland. My main was a chickpea inspired dish, it was ok but nothing amazing but my husbands RACK of lamb was a shocking, size was 2 tiny bones of trimmed meat for the price we paid, especially when I saw afterwards on instagram the same portion was included in a 3 course lunch menu for 26 gbp. I thik our lamb was 26gbp on its own. Gin and tonic cheesecake was again nice, but nothing outstanding. You need to add side dishes to make up the meal but even they weren't great. the triple cooked chips were hollow as if they were over cooked. they did give us two handmade truffles as a gift which didnt taste great either. We have visited many michelin chef restaurants over the years having lived in Dubai (Gordon Ramsey, Nick and Scott, Darren Velvick, Gary Rhodes, Marco Pierre White and more so know the difference between quality and average food. I was so excited to book this but turned out disappointing.

    Having eaten at the Berkeley which was amazing, I was really excited to be eating at another of Marcus Wareings restaurants, and although I knew I couldn’t expect the same ambience and quality I was a little disappointed. Having been told we could be not have our table for 2 hours, when we arrived ( on time) and told our table wasn’t ready, we were deposited in the bar and had to ask for our spring cocktail ( part of the ‘deal’) to be brought to us while we waited- I would have expected that’s to be offered. It was unfortunate that our table was next to a large group of about 30 who were clearly in high spirits and celebrating , but it was noisy (maybe not the venue for large parties in the enclosed basement?) and at times we struggled to hear each other. The food was ‘nice’ but nothing better than I’ve eaten in other out of town restaurants- the mackerel dish was tiny, glad I opted for lamb which was tasty but a bit chewy. The desserts were ok but the soft salted caramel with honeycomb was really just caramel ice cream!! I was distinctly underwhelmed so won’t rush back- shame as I’m a massive Marcus fan but if his name is on it then the menu/ service needs reviewing.

    We were placed in a two person window table with insufficient room to withdraw the chair. First course poached egg under cooked. Second course promised Lamb Chops but presented very fatty cutlets. We were given an extra sweet, which was not required as one of us doen’t eat puddings any way. This was not the special occasion we had expected.

    Lovely relaxed lunch with friends before theatre. Most of eat off the lunch menu. I can recommend the fish spring rolls and the roast cauliflower.
