Located in the heart of South Kensington, the Town House restaurant & bar is an all-day dining haven, accessed through its own discreet entrance on Manson Place. While away an afternoon over a delicious classic afternoon tea or sip exquisite cocktails at the adjacent K Bar.

Executive Chef Steve Gibbs, formerly of Hix and Caprice Holdings, has created a menu to match all tastes where the emphasis is on fresh produce focusing on the seasons, balanced with its hand-picked wine list with something for everyone.

Designed by Alexander Waterworth, the interiors reflect the building's natural charm and old English Town House aesthetic, with a specially-curated library also adding to the charm. The Town House’s period rooms – consisting of 3 beautiful interconnecting spaces - of what were once individual Regency style townhouses, feature bay windows, working fireplaces, parquet floors and original art.

Launched in February 2016, K Bar is inspired by the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentlemen's club. Deep grained oak panelling lines the space which is softened by racing green and royal blue upholstery. An impressive bar front with leather panelling and a rich green marble top accompanies a polished brass back bar display and bespoke wine fridges. Bar Manager Ben Manchester, has put together a cocktail list with unique recipes created to demonstrate how food and drink go so well together.

South Kensington Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

    It was just lovely, the food was delicious and the attention to detail was superb. The cakes were beautiful, and the chicken sandwiches were very nice!! So nice in fact that we asked for more! The service was imprecable and could not be faulted.

    I loved the Tale as old as Time afternoon tea. It was really well done and each item of food had obviously been given a lot of thought to tie it in to the film. There are a few improvements that could be made. I tried to contact the townhouse about needing 1 vegetarian. I didn't get a response to the email/online enquiry I submitted, which gave a bad impression and is poor customer service. We ended up phoning to let them know, the person that answered the call said they would make a note on our booking but when we got there the waiter didn't know about it and seemed surprised when I asked for one. Communication obviously lacked and gives a bad impression before you even get there. Also the waiter was too quick to clear plates at first. I literally had just popped the last bite of the starter in my mouth when my plate was whisked away from me, I hadn't even finished chewing the last bite. It went from this extreme to the other and it took ages for us to be given our bill at the end. I feel the staff don't have an incentive as service is automatically added to the bill. I feel this should be left off, the customer choose the amount and therefore incentivises the staff to earn it. These are just improvements that could be made as overall I did enjoy my experience and hats off to the chef. The lady that explained the menu initially was also very friendly and is definitely an asset to the team. It's more the waiters themselves that need to improve as well as the pre services communications which seem non existent.

    We had a wonderful experience at the Tale as old as time afternoon tea yesterday to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. Being a fan of the original 1991 film since my childhood I was keen to book the themed experience visiting the UK all the way from Dubai. My husband and I live in the UAE and visit our families in the UK yearly and enjoy booking special experiences such as this. Additionally it was our 3 month old son's first afternoon tea and visit to London! The experience did not disappoint. Our waiter Alphonso was wonderful, attentive, personable and went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after. The setting was magnificent, a beautiful hotel indeed. I particularly enjoyed the tea as the cuisine was linked to references from the film and I loved the Disney characters that dressed the table. We took lots of pictures and were delighted with another fantastic memory shared by our family. We were very lucky to have secured a reservation as initially the experience had sold out but we received an email inviting us to reserve due to a cancellation. Benjamin the manager also told us that the experience is being continued and there may be availability for a Christmas reservation which would would be interested in booking. Thank you Kensington Town House for making my mother's birthday so memorable. As a recommendation we would suggest the films soundtrack be played in the background to add to the theme.

    The hotel staff were lovely, the hotel beautiful and the Tale as old as Time Tea was amazing!! Brilliant time had by all.

    We had a table for the themed 'Be Our Guest' afternoon tea, which was a treat to celebrate my daughter-in-laws 40th birthday, as she is mad about Beauty and the Beast!!
    The table was lovely, the food was great and the whole experience was a delight. Our table server had asked if we were there for any particular reason and when we explained it was a birthday treat, one of the plates of food had 'Happy 40th Birthday' piped round it in chocolate!! Much appreciated!!
