Located in the heart of South Kensington, the Town House restaurant & bar is an all-day dining haven, accessed through its own discreet entrance on Manson Place. While away an afternoon over a delicious classic afternoon tea or sip exquisite cocktails at the adjacent K Bar.

Executive Chef Steve Gibbs, formerly of Hix and Caprice Holdings, has created a menu to match all tastes where the emphasis is on fresh produce focusing on the seasons, balanced with its hand-picked wine list with something for everyone.

Designed by Alexander Waterworth, the interiors reflect the building's natural charm and old English Town House aesthetic, with a specially-curated library also adding to the charm. The Town House’s period rooms – consisting of 3 beautiful interconnecting spaces - of what were once individual Regency style townhouses, feature bay windows, working fireplaces, parquet floors and original art.

Launched in February 2016, K Bar is inspired by the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentlemen's club. Deep grained oak panelling lines the space which is softened by racing green and royal blue upholstery. An impressive bar front with leather panelling and a rich green marble top accompanies a polished brass back bar display and bespoke wine fridges. Bar Manager Ben Manchester, has put together a cocktail list with unique recipes created to demonstrate how food and drink go so well together.

South Kensington Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

The first impression was that the hotel had a lovely warm feeling and very well decorated and also full of guests. They didn't have our booking which didn't help but found a table for us but we had to wait. Service very slow but pleasant. We had 3 pre theatre menus and one off the main menu. Problem is the pre theatre menu although we had two hours before the performance at the Albert Hall we had 10 minutes left to get there once we had the meal so slow. The dessert and coffee took for ever to arrive and although we had no complaints about the food the service became slower and slower as the meal proceeded. Cant understand why they serve pre theatre menus if they can't deliver them in time. The restaurant was empty by the time we left at 7.20 and I couldn't believe no one was eating there at that time in a hotel. Also they didn't seem to have the staff around. Very disappointing as it was not a cheap evening.

Delightful, surroundings very traditional and very cozy beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Afternoon tea very pleasant, although finger sandwiches prepared a little to soon before serving. Would give it a 4*.

Lovely cosy hotel, with fires dotted around and comfy lounge area. Restaurant was equally lovely, tables nicely spaced apart and food was excellent. Good value pre theatre menu even on a Saturday. Creme Brulee not great, but otherwise all good, even the coffee.

I got there abit early but when I went in, friendly hotel and lovely staff but soon as I walked up to the afternoon tea room. Someone asked about my booking while I was talking I got cut off before I said my name and they said let me seat these people down and il be back. I stood there for few minutes till someone and came and told me to seat down. I sat for 10mins and no cake by to ask me why I’m waiting for or anything then few mins later I had someone who finally approach me and asked me again have you got a booking, which then I did say yes and told my name. By that time I was bit up set as I sat around and did nothing. My booking was 2pm. I didn’t get pproacjed till 2.20pm which isn’t good as I booked online well in advance for this and I wasn’t happy and even expressed this to the person who seated me.
I will come back again as I enjoyed the pasties and sandwiches but please don’t give me this service again as it did let it down and I will make sure this doesn’t happen again.

We enjoyed the whole experience at Town House. The lounge was a delightful place to meet up with friends travelling from another part of the country. We all then moved into the restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent and very friendly.
We chose to meet up and eat at Town House as it was handy for the V&A. We were even shown the easiest route to take. We shall certainly return.

We came for the 'A tale as old as time' afternoon tea and it was excellent. The afternoon tea was lovely and they had executed the beauty and the beast theme very well. On top of this the lounge itself was lovely and relaxing, with a lovely fire. It was lovely to just be able to sit back and have a lovely relaxing afternoon. The staff were attentive but not invasive which I thought was a perfect balance. Overall was lovely and will definitely be going back (as well as trying out their bar which looked beautiful!)

The experience was great from start to finish, the service was excellent, the tale as old as time afternoon tea was quirky and elegant, sandwiches divine, the only one thing it didnt need was the baguette, that seemed a little boring, maybe a different cake would have been better, i will certainly recommed the Hotel, Chritmas decorations are beautiful.
