Originally this Grade-II listed mansion's library, Moreton's Restaurant at De Vere Tortworth Estate is a stunning setting to enjoy sumptuous British recipes and afternoon teas. This character-packed venue features ornate archways, exposed stonework, a grand fireplace, and stunning views out over the hotel's tranquil gardens.

The seasonal Moreton's Restaurant menu pairs British classics with wholesome European influences, and also serves a selection of comfort food treats. From the bar, diners can order stone-baked pizzas and classics like beer battered sustainable haddock and chips. On the main menu, there are options like the pan-roasted fillet of hake with chorizo and white bean and vegetable cassoulet, as well as a selection of gourmet burgers from the grill, and succulent steaks.

For pudding, there are more classic treats, like the chef's traditional sponge pudding which changes daily, and a proper British cheeseboard. The afternoon tea menu at the De Vere Tortworth Estate in Gloucestershire offers glasses of champagne or prosecco to complement the finger sandwiches, scones, and selection of cakes.

Also boasting an accomplished wine list, Moreton's Restaurant at De Vere Tortworth Estate is an atmospheric slice of British tradition, packed with character.

We had a lovely afternoon tea. It was my mums birthday present and she really enjoyed it. Could highly recommend this.

Civilised. Unhurried, decent choice of sandwich fillings (changed, but not drastically, from menu shown when I booked) as we have two finicky eaters (not me) in party and cakes are good if mainstream. I shall go again.

Afternoon tea was lovely and very generous, the tables were very cramped and close together (even with no one else sat nearby!!) felt a lot more tables that was room for!

This visit was a treat for my Dad who was visiting the area. He had no idea where he was going, and was so impressed with the venue and surrounding grounds. He said it was like being in Downtown Abbey !!!! He came away being well fed and saying he would remember the experience as being quite special. Thank you. Staff very excellent, and couldn't do enough to make the whole event a very pleasant one.

We were booked for afternoon tea and from the moment we arrived could find no fault at all.
Service and the tea were exceptional.
If we had known more about the estate we would have arrived sooner and taken in the lovely grounds.
    Faultless.
