We were unable to order one al a carte meal and one prix fixe which seemed short sited as they lost out as we ended up having two prix fixe. The bottle of wine was not cold, so we asked for two glasses of chilled wine and got more room temperature wine. Staff were very laid back and spent time chatting to each other rather than serving guests, the front of house was poor, didn't engage or notice orders not being taken. Seems like a good food restaurant run by students with no sense of customer service, which is a shame. If you compare it to Jamie Oliver (same price banding) where the staff are knowledgeable, attentive and have a professional attitude to their job.

My partner and i went to tonic while were staying in town, we dined at 7.30 and [...] we got a seat near the 'open plan' kitchen whuch to be honest was disappointment as all it had was a little window you couldnt really see in clearly.I ordered scallops for starter they were ok little undercooked for my liking. My partner had ham and pea rissoto which was very nice. For main i ordered sirloin with a hollindaise sauce. The meat was serve rare and i asked for medium but the cut of meat was nice even if it was served a little underdone for my liking. My partner ordered lamb which was also underdone. We ordered a couple of sides and the carrots were the best thing about the main meal. I had the strawberry moose dessert which was very nice. And my partner ordered coconut pannacota which was ok,we counldnt taste the coconut much. It came with a lychee wonton and that was good. The service was good though and they were friendly. The music was a bit jazzy. But overall the night was ok.

Yeah great service by the staff, even hung up our jackets for us. Lovley place, lovley/different food. It was only the price you will need to keep in mind when coming here. It cost me and my friend [$] for two meals and one beer.

We dined on a Saturday evening at 8.15 and, after a quiet start, the atmosphere became very lively with a mixture of groups and couples. The bread that we ordered was dry and very crumbly, and one of the dipping oil dishes was chipped. The starters were excellent with great flavours and presentation. The main courses were very nice, but the portions were small and you need to order side dishes. The dessert was well presented and had lovely flavours. The wine was kept away from the table and the waitress had to serve it - great until she became busy, then not so good. Overall a good meal in a lively atmosphere, slightly let down by a couple of details.

When booking I requested a booth. We had to wait a little longer for this but they did accommodate our request.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, staff are very helpful and proffessional. Over all I love the setting, food and ambience in this place and which I could visit more.

Dined at 12.30pm Service was very quick, very friendly and efficient. Food was top notch and good value, would recommend. Dining area was pretty empty given it was xmas so there was little atmosphere and the music choice was a little stange! Crackers on the table would have made it feel more festive!
