Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Tom’s Kitchen Somerset House serves rustic British cuisine from highly-acclaimed chef, Tom Aikens. Guests can dine in the Scandinavian-style interior with its communal-style tables and low-hanging lighting, or take in views over the River Thames at outdoor tables.

Sourcing the very best of the season’s produce, the Tom’s Kitchen menu features sharing boards and a diverse list of mains, plus a grill section filled with rare breed meats from the Lake District. Sample Tom Aikens restaurant favourites like Cornish trout with roast cauliflower & sea vegetables, or duck breast with chicory & carrot crush. For dessert, indulgences include apricot Bakewell, or a sharing caramel & popcorn sundae, and the drinks list showcases an impressive stock of cocktails, local craft beers and wines.

Brunch at Tom’s Kitchen in London features gourmet twists, with signature dishes including seasonal berry pancakes, smoked haddock kedgeree or Tom’s namesake full English. A varied kids’ menu is also on offer, served at breakfast, lunch & dinner.

A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find this Tom Aikens restaurant a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.

Delightful place with great service. Our second visit, but disappointing dishes this time from the veggie menu.

We were 3 ladies lunching. The service was excellent - we were shown to one of the curved banquettes which was ideal for us. A sharing platter to start of meat and fish was excellent, then duck, fish and chips and sea bream. All were good except the sea bream was a bit dry and the presentation just on a bed of cold tomoatoes was not that good. The tomatoes should have been cooked to bring out their flavor more. The desserts were just fantastic - rum baba and the raspberry parfait. All washed down with an excellent and well priced Provence rose. And the best bit - excellent value.

A lovely airy restaurant. We had a great set menu, wonderful service. A glass of prosecutors, gazpacho, mains , fabulous desserts and delicious , strong coffee. The only quibble I have is with the pork escalope, which wasn't thin enough and a bit too chewy.

Lovely, enjoyable evening with delicious food and special attention.

Not overly impressed...(Brunch menu) fish and chips- small piece of fish complete with bone parts, accompanied by cold crushed peas...
Rum Baba dessert, not a hint of rum or syrup anywhere, it was made up of two rolled up pieces of sponges that tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave and it was rock solid... very poor

Friend ordered a side of mushrooms which took an age to appear, despite being told a side of mushrooms was missing when they served her dinner
Setting within Somerset house grounds simply stunning

Welcoming staff who helped us change booking due to concert and , as one of us in wheelchair, getting through cloud late at night troublesome
    Staff attentive
Our waitress esp pleasant and engaging

The food is absolutely delicious and the best waiting staff. We had a super few hours. Best food and atmosphere!

Manager was good. Cote de boeuf was cold (twice) and not how we requested it be cooked, when you are paying £70 for a piece of meat it should be good.... And then when we asked for the bill we asked to split it and my friend was charged the whole amount which she only realised afterwards and I left cash for my half. I have emailed the restaurant as when I called no one answered, as yet I've had no response.

This feedback is serious and please pass it on the to the Manager. Over the years I've had several business lunches at Tom's Kitchen but on this occasion I can truthfully say that this was the worst food I've had in a 'reasonable' restaurant in London. The green pea soup was nothing more than coloured water - tasteless with no texture. A disgrace for £7.00! The fish and chips were pedestrian in the extreme - dry, tasteless chips and small portion of dry fish with tasteless batter - all for £16.00! The service was rather amateurish but the worst part of our 'experience' was the acoustic which is terribly over-resonant which makes conversation almost impossible. Never again!
