Absolutely loved Tom's kitchen, had a great Saturday Brunch. The Mac 'n' Cheese stood out the most, the best I've had!

Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Tom’s Kitchen Somerset House serves rustic British cuisine from highly-acclaimed chef, Tom Aikens. Guests can dine in the Scandinavian-style interior with its communal-style tables and low-hanging lighting, or take in views over the River Thames at outdoor tables.

Sourcing the very best of the season’s produce, the Tom’s Kitchen menu features sharing boards and a diverse list of mains, plus a grill section filled with rare breed meats from the Lake District. Sample Tom Aikens restaurant favourites like Cornish trout with roast cauliflower & sea vegetables, or duck breast with chicory & carrot crush. For dessert, indulgences include apricot Bakewell, or a sharing caramel & popcorn sundae, and the drinks list showcases an impressive stock of cocktails, local craft beers and wines.

Brunch at Tom’s Kitchen in London features gourmet twists, with signature dishes including seasonal berry pancakes, smoked haddock kedgeree or Tom’s namesake full English. A varied kids’ menu is also on offer, served at breakfast, lunch & dinner.

A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find this Tom Aikens restaurant a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.

Beautiful setting, food and drinks. Very nice lunch. Unfortunately our dining experience was disturbed by diners in another room in the restaurant with young children, shouting and running. Not the restaurant's fault but the wooden floors and beautiful aesthetic of the setting do not provide any absorption of sound which made it difficult for us to enjoy our catch up and spoilt other diner's experience too.
Happy to recommend restaurant for food, drink and ambience but recognize impact other diners' behavior may have on your experience.

So in one day I went to Gilbert Scott at the Renaissance Hotel Kings Cross and then Tom's Kitchen at the Courtauld. I can safely recommend both dining experiences. Marcus Wareing's presentation is perhaps slightly more fine-dining but if I had to compare I would say that it was probably even stevens between these two celebrity chefs. Tom Aikens excels in more rustic, more earthy cooking as the photos on the Deli and Restaurant wall of potatoes fresh from the ground clearly show.
Tom's Kitchen make you feel very comfortable and that adds to the dining experience. Also good service and comfy seating for larger parties.
Choosing from the set menu there was plenty of variety between the three choices on offer and the Gazpacho starter and Pork Escalope main were so fantastically flavoursome. Personally I found the Burrata slightly too bland even with its orange zesty additions. Dessert of ice cream and sorbet choices with one option and Raspberry Parfait another were both suitably delicious and rounded off a wonderful celebration of my father's 80th birthday.
Throughly recommended and fantastic value for money.

While the food was good (although the makeral 'fillets' was only one, not plural. , and small), we waited an unacceptable amount of time for the food to arrive, being at the restaurant for over 2 hours just for 2 small courses and being forced to bail on our desserts as we ran out of time. Not great as we were charged for a set 3 course meal!

No atmosphere. I find it silly that you can get a croissant in the deli but not the restaurant when having eggs / brunch at 10.30am. Food was quite cold. Staff were pleasant. Shame you can barely see the river from the restaurant - the website suggests otherwise I felt.

I've been twice recently and both times the service was slow and not up to par
