Restaurant description

A family-friendly spot for traditional roast dinners served with all the trimmings, Toby Carvery Washington is a comfy pub that focuses on home-style recipes made with seasonal ingredients.

You're guaranteed a great British classic at Toby Carvery, the self-professed ‘home of the roast’. Choose from juicy, slow-cooked meats (including lamb every Sunday), seasonal vegetables and hand-ruffled potatoes - with each one checked to make sure it's gorgeously crispy.

Toby Carvery has a great range of vegan and vegetarian options to suit the whole family, with vegetables on the carvery deck served with a vegan glaze - no need to wait for new vegetables! All-you-can-eat breakfast is served daily and their extensive drinks range includes soft drinks, refillable Pepsi Max, beers, ciders and a wine list to pair with the perfect roast.

Always offering value for money and a welcoming ambience, Toby Carvery Washington is 8 minutes' drive from Chester-le-Street Rail Station.

That day a nightmare. Had to cancel reservation when we had been there 15 minutes. Our reservation was for 2.30 we would have still been waiting an hour later. The place was packed, queue for carvery was huge and front of house wasn’t even sure if there was enough food to last it was soooo busy. People were being turned away. This is my first complaint as we’ve always had really good service.

Was lovely food but very busy and had to que for almost half an hour, which is usually fine but not ideal carrying a baby. We loved the potato and carrot gratin dish, wish all toby carverys would do it.
