Hearty Sunday roasts are on the menu all week at Toby Carvery Southend. A selection of British-sourced meats are served with all the trimmings, there are dedicated kids' menus, and al fresco seating for when the weather allows.

Featuring classic British roasts every day of the week, the Toby Carvery menu is renowned for its crowd-pleasing selection. Choose from juicy, slow-cooked meats, seasonal vegetables and hand-ruffled potatoes (with each one checked to make sure it’s gorgeously crispy). Tempting alternatives at this Toby Carvery in Southend include allotment pie, and salmon with coriander and lime, while a varied vegetarian range includes the broccoli & brie parcel.

Old-school puddings are always on offer at Toby Carvery pubs, with famous signature crumbles served alongside chocolate & cherry torte, and baked vanilla cheesecake. The drinks list features beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks, and full-works, all-you-can-eat breakfasts are served each day.

A great family-friendly eatery with a welcoming ambience, Toby Carvery Southend is a 7-minute drive away from Prittlewell Rail Station.

This was the first time in about 8 years that my mum has dined out, due to illness. We had the Carvery meal, followed by Eton Mess (her) and Honeycomb Sundae (me). We had a great time. The service was good and friendly and the food was delicious. Mum particularly had a lovely time and we have agreed that we'll eat there again sometime soon. One further thing: there was no music playing in the background, which was wonderful!!

We have lunch at the Toby about every 6 weeks as we visit my aunt who is nearly 88 & take her out for lunch. Her appetite is that of a small bird & although not a mean person I find it quite a rip off to pay for a Carvery Roast when she eats one piece of meat, a spoonful of potatoes and a spoonful of peas. Is there no way you could make a reduced meal price for very mature people, perhaps smaller plates? Just a suggestion. Know some places have light lunches for those with a smaller appetite. Just a thought. Other than that we quite enjoy the meals & service. Just one other thing, we tried to use a card in the cash machine & twice it didn't work properly. Put the card in, it asked for the pin number, after that it rejected the card!!

The food was fine, the meat was sliced slowly and thinly but the meal on a whole was good. We were sat on a table for 4 with a table for 2 very close to us. The space between the two tables was not very big, so aware of other people hearing our conversation and vice versa.

90th birthday lunch booked for my mother. Initially booked online for 11:30, but moved back to 12:00 when two of the diners visited and spoke to staff. There was no problem when the numbers increased by 6! Everyone very helpful, allowed us to decorate the table, and considering the numbers involved, coped very well with dessert ordering! We've eaten here a lot and will carry on doing so - you can't beat a Toby Carvery!!
