Customer reviews for Toby Carvery - Kings Langley

The staff service was really good but they were working, up against a lack of supplies! The carvery was fine, but there were no puddings available, so I decided on a cappuccino to be told that the machine wasn't working, so I had a normal coffee, which was in fact less than lukewarm! 10/10 to staff 4/10 for Toby food supplies to restaurants!

Dirty sticky table that we were seated at - I asked the waitress to clean it which she said she would do when we went up to get our food - she didn't clean it. We barely saw her at all, only to serve drinks at the beginning so couldn't ask her again and shouldn't have needed to do so anyway. We had to chase her for the bill and then again to pay the bill. Carpeted floor area filthy, in fact the whole place looked scruffy and tired.
Waiting staff and chef serving the meat looked unkept, bored and uninterested. No rapport between the staff and customers. Long queues to get food as only one chef carving the meat and she had to serve the yorkshires too. In fact she was the only chef behind the food counter. Food on offer looked unappetising and lots of peas had fallen on the dirty tiled floor and had been trodden in. People had used the same spoons for different vegetables as there weren't enough serving spoons for one per dish so the veg hadn't been kept totally separate from each other. We didn't even feel inclined to order pudding which we usually always do.
Bearing in mind that it was a birthday lunch treat for mother's 89th birthday, the whole occasion was a dreadful experience and we will never return.

Roast dinner was fine, except for the thick gloopy gravy! I wasn't able to have the ice cram sundae dessert which I had been looking forward to as they had no cream!

Didn't get to eat here as 45 mins before our visit we were called to say there was a technical hitch & the meat wasn't reaching the correct temperature. Disappointing. 6:45 on a Sunday eve is a bad time to try & rebook for a Sunday roast.

The worst experience ever, we had to wait ages for a seat even though we booked, we then ordered drinks and queued for a good 30 minutes for food only to come back to find our table had been given to someone else, drinks where forgotten and even when ordered again we had to collect it from the bar, the waitress who served us was very inhospitable, we love going to Toby and this one in particular but never again.

We were very disapointed as we were told there had been a problem and there was no turkey, but all other meats were available. When we then went to the carvery we were then told there was no beef and the only meats available were Gammon or Pork.
