I had booked well ahead and we had the table I had hoped for, so that was nice. Everything was ready when we arrived and we had a drink in the bar while awaiting the arrival of the rest of our party. The food was very good and we all had the roast which was very good value - lots of super vegetables. The service was also good and we had a very pleasant waitress. We have used this Toby many times and it is usually crowded and very noisy but pn this occasion it was just a very pleasant atmosphere. We shall be back again sometime in the future.

We all had the carvery which was lovely as usual. Waiting staff not brilliant though.

The food was upto my expectations and the service at the table was good. However, having taken the trouble to book almost a week in advance, we were not able to take a seat for almost 15 minutes! The man at the reception told us to wait at the bar - even though there were several tables free! There are no barstools at the bar - one of the ladies in my party is 89 and I am a blue badge holder because I have a debilitating lung disease - and standing around is very difficult. This start to our lunch out was most unpleasant! Though the man at reception was technically polite, I am of the opinion that things were not handled well. What is the point of booking in advance?

We really enjoyed the carvery. Definitely come again.

This was a “Carvery”therefore food specifically roast meat/ veg with small selection of starters/ vegetarian and desserts. Main Carvery queue moves fairly quickly, standard of food high and plenty of choices. Waiting staff keen and efficient. Only small issue is that seating is crammed in, and children are everywhere - might be good to have a “Family section”!
