Was a bit wary about booking Sunday lunch here as I'd heard mixed reports about the quality of the food and the slow service. I booked for 1230 and although we arrived a little early we were immediately shown to our table and orders taken for drinks. The restaurant was very busy and we were aware that there was o long queue for food. However, the service was really well organised and despite waiting about 10 mins in the queue our food was hot , tasty and well seasoned. Only minor complaint was the cauliflower was rather undercooked for our taste.

Sunday Lunch, booked for 3:30pm. ABSOLUTELY CROWDED, the wait in the carvery queue was over 15 mins. After FINALLY getting my food, one of our drinks was a 'refillable' Pepsi Max. They brought an EMPTY glass to the table along with three other drinks, lager, j20 etc. I had to ditch my hot dinner, walk right across the restaurant to the refill machine, and get my drink after another queue, and walk back with it. The veg was ok except for the cauliflower cheese. Two problems, no cheese sauce, and grossly undercooked. It took some real effort to cut it with a knife, and if you're teeth are at all sensitive, forget it. I had a mix of turkey and beef as the meat - the turkey was great, no issues. The beef, omg - full of gristle, and the meat itself, when you got the gristle out of it, was incredibly hard to chew. I joked with my family that they should not have cooked this one but instead, sent it to DFS - they could have made a sofa or two out of it. Really looked forward to this and it turned out to be a pretty awful meal, I would never go back to that place again - or any Marstons establishment, if they truly think that little of their customers they can forget it.

After booking a table it took an hour before we were able to eat our lunch. by which time both my partner and myself felt so anxious we were in no mood to eat. Not the relaxing experience that we were expecting.
