In general the food is very good. Occasionally the beef can be a little chewy which is a shame, Staff have always been pleasant and helpful

A charming British pub with al fresco seating on the banks of the River Itchen, Toby Carvery Bishopstoke is a haven of home-cooked recipes. Inside there are exposed wooden beams and plush furnishings, with a range of beers and ales served at the bar.

Featuring classic British roasts every day of the week, the Toby Carvery menu is renowned for its crowd-pleasing selection. Choose from juicy, slow-cooked meats, seasonal vegetables and hand-ruffled potatoes (with each one checked to make sure it’s gorgeously crispy). Tempting alternatives at this Toby Carvery in Eastleigh include allotment pie, and salmon with coriander and lime, while a varied vegetarian range includes the broccoli & brie parcel.

Old-school puddings are always on offer at Toby Carvery pubs, with famous signature crumbles served alongside chocolate & cherry torte, and baked vanilla cheesecake. The drinks list features beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks, and full-works, all-you-can-eat breakfasts are served each day.

With a tranquil ambience thanks to its riverside setting, Toby Carvery Bishopstoke is a 3-minute drive from Eastleigh Rail Station.

Waitress was lovely and very polite. Chose carvery..the serving implements are way too hot to handle. The gravy and sauce counter was very messy around area and on floor. Would like to have some green cabbage for a change! Meal did taste good??Had refillable Pepsi max but tasted syrupy and was flat even though I didn't have ice

A pleasant lunch experience for all four of us. Friendly service and freshly cooked food. Two Toby carverys for a £10 was a welcome offer - which all four of us made use of.

A very pleasant lunch was enjoyed by all four of us. Made extra pleasant by the offer of.... Two Toby carvery meals for £10!! Only disappointment with the meal was.... no crackling to go with the roast pork.

Impressed by improvements to restaurant however a lack of waiting staff meant we waited some time for our drinks and desserts. Food good and vegetable selection fine.

Average dining. Sticky table from previous occupants and lots of employees not using their time effectively but rushing around behind each other.
    Polite staff and nice surroundings.
Home of the carvery.... hmmm the Yorkshire pudding was more chewy pancake and the roast potatoes were greasy and cold.
Had to wait for the gravy pots to be filled up. The condiments and gravy section was sticky and very messy with gravy everywhere.
The toilets were dirty and run out of hand soap.
I'm guessing that this is not a true representative of The River Inn but a blip with the staff they had working that night.
It hasn't put me off I would go back.
