Set in Manchester's trendy Northern Quarter district, TNQ offers vibrant 'Northern Soul' cuisine infused with flavours of the Mediterranean. A glossy, modern dining room features glitzy floor-to-ceiling windows, framing views onto the Grade I-listed Smithfield Market facade.

Making use of a premium stock of products from across the British Isles, the TNQ menu presents quintessentially British flavours. Rich, heady offerings include a portly stuffed suckling pig with black pudding croquettes, or wood pigeon with wild mushrooms and chicory. A thriving, independent neighbourhood restaurant, The Northern Quarter in Manchester is headed by chef Anthony Fielden.

For a retreat from the bustle of Piccadilly Gardens, TNQ offers a full bar menu compiling cocktails and world wines, and rich coffees. On Sundays, guests can relax with the Sunday papers, and enjoy a traditional roast with all the trimmings. Delicious fresh fish and vegetarian offerings are also available.

The Northern Quarter restaurant sits amidst the city’s art scene. Manchester Victoria Rail Station is 8 minutes’ walk away.

The Northern Quarter is a great little restaurant. This was our first encounter and we went to the New Years Eve 'Speakeasy' theme Gala night. 6 courses with a glass of fizz on arrival and cocktails during the meal; more fizz at midnight. Lovely food and a great ambience. The staff were really attentive and created the perfect atmosphere for us revellers! Good live music added to the whole evening. Overall pretty good value for money. We will definitely go back to sample the normal menu

Dined at 8 30. Great food, though felt more like a café than a restaurant, killing an otherwise romantic scene. However, as the evening went on this became less noticeable, and we had a fantastic evening.
