Thoroughly enjoyed the food, it was great value, beautifully presented & very pleasant surrounding.. Service was a little slow but the food was certainly worth the wait !!!! I`m going back for the Sunday roast.

I had afternoon tea with a friend who has abundant knowledge of tea. Scones were superb! Cakes and sandwiches were lovely as well. The problem was the tea. It was in a silverware pot. Proper teapot should be ceramic or glass, ideally a round shape so the tea leaves jump. A bit of a disappointment when the quality of the tea is the highlight of a perfect afternoon tea. Maybe you can change the pot?

The restaurant is in the Duke Hotel, a gorgeous place near St. James green. After a long afternoon of touring the fascinating Churchill War Room museum and a stroll through the park I was ready to sit and relax. This was the perfect place. It is elegant and quiet. The device is impeccable and the tea delicious. I have to admit I started with an absolutely perfect Martini, which when I asked the server said "could be arranged". I wish I could live in the drawing room at the Duke and enjoy this tea of delicious sandwiches -- smoked salmon, coronation chicken being the most outstanding, warm scones, and our tiny exquisite desserts. Oh yes, the tea was excellent as well. A perfect way to end a day of touring London.

Disappointing that we had not got a table in the lounge area and were seated in what looked like an overflow restaurant room. I would like to have been advised of this on booking as it didn't create the same experience as u had previously enjoyed.

The food and service was fine, although I thought that a rocket leaf sandwich was a bit naff!
Our quite expensive but hoped for quiet and enjoyable experience was spoilt by having an elderly hotel guest sitting opposite us in his Gym shorts and towel around his neck. We were concerned that his sweat would be on the furniture, but even worse he started to make obvious mobile calls in this 'quiet' plush room. We did not enjoy our afternoon tea because of this.
We bought it to the attention of a member of staff, but it seemed that she could not have done much about it.
We would like to visit again, but would not like to repeat our experience.

The afternoon tea experience in Dukes Hotel was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and caring. The decor and the sofa in the room were very comfortable and relaxing. The surrounding is affluent and close to many former residences of famous people such as Winston Churchill. I would definitely come back again.

Arrived at Dukes for afternoon tea last Thursday (8th dec) with a friend. No booking could be found. Thankfully they were able to accommodate us. Staff were very friendly after initial confusion & couldn't be more helpful.

A great dining experience. Apologies in advance for all the superlatives but....Superb food beautifully served and our deal was great value. Probably the best meal in London for £26 including prosecco, nibbles, breads, Amuse Bouches and and three substantial courses. Just one example, my starter of ham knuckle and lobster was divine. The wine list has a very good range. A quiet, calm atmosphere which suited us well. Would highly recommend.
