We had a lovely meal at Theo Randalls - the food was excellent only bettered by the service from the staff.

An ‘Italian Restaurant of the Year’ winner at the London Food Awards, Theo Randall at the InterContinental brings sublime rustic cuisine to Mayfair, on the edge of Hyde Park.
Marvellous seasonal ingredients are selected to prepare simple but exciting dishes. Delicate antipasti selections include smoked prosciutto with trevisse tardivo, parmesan and aged balsamic. Dynamic main courses can be seen with such dishes as wood roasted guinea fowl stuffed with prosciutto di Parma, mascarpone and thyme roasted on pagnotti bruscetta. Theo Randall at the InterContinental also offers special vegetarian taster menus.
There are light, subtle desserts on offer, such as amalfi lemon tart, as well as a comprehensive wine list. This, along with early suppers and post-theatre menus ensure that Theo Randall at the InterContinental caters for a huge selection of tastes.
With chocolate and pistachio styling and subtle lighting, Theo Randall’s Mayfair restaurant gives diners relaxation and refinement to mix and contrast with their vibrant, colourful Italian fare. The historic London Hyde Park and Green Park are both a 5-minute walk away.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening at 9 pm. The place was lively and cosy. We had the 3 course with prosecco deal for 33£ which was excellent value. The food is always spot on- I have been many times to this restaurant, and the quality is always consistent. The setting is nothing special, but it is pleasant, and for me the food experience is more important than trendy setting.

We had the best time. Allocated one of the two high tables just outside the kitchen window, we were able to observe Theo Randall really focussing on turning out top quality Italian food. Excellent flavours / attractive food served in good quantities. Invited to meet Theo at the end of our meal which was the cherry on the cake !

The intercontinental sunday brunch used to be my favorite one in London, the best in quality, quantity and top service by far. Not anymore. This new restaurant serves a decent brunch with dishes of great quality but the staff makes the whole experience a bit stressful.
The brunch used to includes teas and coffees and also water. Not anymore. I wish I was told. I tried to explain my surprise after ordering a drink and realising it won't be included but didn't get any help from the waiter, just yeah it's like that now.
They won't leave you the water at the table so you have to ask every time, leaving you feeling constantly thirsty instead of fully enjoying your meal..but if you drink alcohol then you have all their attention.
The mains and dessert are brought to you. Mains aren't big but very tasty, super salty ( I did ask mine not too much but..). It takes time and don't be fool with the desserts, it's exactly the same from what you get on the menu and what's on the buffet. It's delicious though but very small selection, 3 different ones.
The guys making crepes are really nice but unfortunately mine was overcooked, too crispy. I think he was learning how to do them..
Also when they starting removing dishes don't bother ask if you can get something it's not possible. As a matter of fact, you feel that anything you ask is a bother if not already there. Service used to be so good there, it felt so uncomfortable and awkward. Not sure I'll go back nor recommend this place anymore like I used to.

Overall food was below expectations, average Italian cuisine and no outstanding flavors. The service was friendly but yet waiting times were significantly too long. The ambience was a bit too bright and loud in my opinion and actually felt like a hotel dining hall.
