Restaurant description

An ‘Italian Restaurant of the Year’ winner at the London Food Awards, Theo Randall at the InterContinental brings sublime rustic cuisine to Mayfair, on the edge of Hyde Park.

Marvellous seasonal ingredients are selected to prepare simple but exciting dishes. Delicate antipasti selections include smoked prosciutto with trevisse tardivo, parmesan and aged balsamic. Dynamic main courses can be seen with such dishes as wood roasted guinea fowl stuffed with prosciutto di Parma, mascarpone and thyme roasted on pagnotti bruscetta. Theo Randall at the InterContinental also offers special vegetarian taster menus.

There are light, subtle desserts on offer, such as amalfi lemon tart, as well as a comprehensive wine list. This, along with early suppers and post-theatre menus ensure that Theo Randall at the InterContinental caters for a huge selection of tastes.

With chocolate and pistachio styling and subtle lighting, Theo Randall’s Mayfair restaurant gives diners relaxation and refinement to mix and contrast with their vibrant, colourful Italian fare. The historic London Hyde Park and Green Park are both a 5-minute walk away.

Lovely restaurant with well spaced tables. Very attentive staff but not overpowering. When we entered the restaurant they already knew we had been in the hotel bar and welcomed us warmly. Loved the guinea fowl and starter of fresh pasta - delicious! Very generous servings too!

The tables near the kitchen smell of fried food. The staff do not appear genuinely charming, as I had found on my previous visit. The set menu is very generous and my sea food risotto was very good (charcuterie, less so) although the food is not inventive. The wine list is expensive and, having booked the good value meal, I had to pay c. £52 for the cheapest bottle of white wine from Sicily. If you are not a drinker, it is very good value!! By 10 pm on Tuesday on felt one was overstaying ones welcome.

We liked the room and the staff were excellent and very friendly and chatty in a non patronising way. The food was disappointing. Everything was quite greasy with butter and oil and under seasoned. Honestly, my home cooked Italian dishes are better. The Negronis were very good, though.

Excellent service. Staff very attentive, but not in the way. We had the set menu which was excellent - good choice of food for vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters, which covered our party of 6. Portion size was good and the food was extremely tasty. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed and we had an extremely good evening. Will definitely visit again.

I booked this lunch for a get together with my sister and sister-in-law as I was impressed with the reviews. I can honestly say that it was the best meal we have all had for as long time. Plenty of options to choose from on the lunch menu and each course just kept on giving. Lamb was so tender and seafood risotto was excellent. Desserts to die for and all in all the experience was amazing - the staff were delightful, attentive but not over the top! Thank you to all that made our get together a lovely day.
