An ‘Italian Restaurant of the Year’ winner at the London Food Awards, Theo Randall at the InterContinental brings sublime rustic cuisine to Mayfair, on the edge of Hyde Park.

Marvellous seasonal ingredients are selected to prepare simple but exciting dishes. Delicate antipasti selections include smoked prosciutto with trevisse tardivo, parmesan and aged balsamic. Dynamic main courses can be seen with such dishes as wood roasted guinea fowl stuffed with prosciutto di Parma, mascarpone and thyme roasted on pagnotti bruscetta. Theo Randall at the InterContinental also offers special vegetarian taster menus.

There are light, subtle desserts on offer, such as amalfi lemon tart, as well as a comprehensive wine list. This, along with early suppers and post-theatre menus ensure that Theo Randall at the InterContinental caters for a huge selection of tastes.

With chocolate and pistachio styling and subtle lighting, Theo Randall’s Mayfair restaurant gives diners relaxation and refinement to mix and contrast with their vibrant, colourful Italian fare. The historic London Hyde Park and Green Park are both a 5-minute walk away.

The food was excellent. Very fresh, tasty and well-cooked. The staff were good. Unfortunately, it wasn't very busy and the atmosphere was rather flat.

Amazing Italian and immaculate service but apart from stunning the best ravioli I have ever had (wooow) , the sea bream and lemon tart although tasty were a bit boring and not exciting.

The la dolce vita lunch, felt like being in a cheap hotel breakfast... ages to refull drinks... and mains were cold.

Ages to get drinks, and your nearly made feel guilty to ask for more

We took dinner here opting for the risotto and ravioli starters which were beautifully cooked and presented
We had guinea fowl and sea trout again perfect
Amalfi lemon tart for dessert which was amazing
The evening was topped off by a surprise visit to the kitchen to personally complement the chef who turned out to be Theo Randall himself

Pleasant start with a nice greeting upon entering for the 4 of us, although shortly after wrong menus brought to our table
But improved again with nice complimentary breads as canapes
The food overall was very good, in particular the quality of ingredients used was superb, some lovely baby capers and strongly flavoured tiny tomatoes amongst other nice touches, although not fine dining presentation, just good quality Italian food.
Service though was another story, OMG, cutlery virtually thrown on the table, wrong meals served to individuals, lots of smiles and effort going on but all seemed very false and arrogant.
And a further aspect we had not experienced for a few years was the Sommelier saying sorry, but that wine is not available, ah sorry, that one is not available either !
If true, take them off the Wine List !!
Our first selections were some of the cheaper choices, but so what, it is our choice, one was a favourite however, which I wanted to go with the chosen food, is it not the Sommeliers job to ensure a wine list is complete as well as serve !!
Do these guys think we are all stupid, trying to upsell, well I can tell the management that we only purchased 1 bottle of wine instead of what would have been 3, then simply went elsewhere to drink after dinner !!!!!
After I think the third wine choice, the sommelier then decided he would go and look to see if the second selection made was available, ah yes it was, but just the one bottle, so if you wanted more than one of the same you would need to choose something else !!!
Why why why, this is an old trick that I thought had disappeared from modern day London, clearly not Theo !
Overall service was rather ‘cardboard cut out’ like, very false and was a massive shame as it took away from the overall experience, as chefs are clearly capable of producing quality food, using particularly high quality ingredients and flavours were evident. But not in the same league as Ormer a few minutes away

The food here was sublime and the service was over the top. Everyone from the bar staff to the waiters to the servers were absolutely wonderful. They made me feel like they had invited us to their home.

Amazing food & decor. Service could be better. Not attentive enough & our petit fours never arrived even though our coffee cups were pretty empty. Didn’t bother to wait or ask but I was looking forward to end with a sweet note.
