With the slogan, “Meet. Eat. Drink. Stay”, the boutique The World’s End pub, near Northampton, is simple but classy. The rustic outward appearance hides a sleek interior, fitted with the restaurant and a hireable bar – all in the picturesque hamlet of Ecton.

Boasting accomplished Mediterranean cuisine, The World’s End’s menu takes pride in its stone fired pizzas and range of steaks, but also its well-loved British pub options. Mouth-watering dishes on offer include a meat grazing board with buttered chicken liver pate, salami, chorizo, Parma ham and rump steak, and sea bass fillets with chorizo crushed new potatoes, samphire and sauce vierge.

Inside, the feature wall is composed of stacks of firewood, and old-fashioned brick archways frame the building. However, combining the classic and the modern, there is a fresh cream and brown theme to the decorations and seating, extending to the pretty anterior dining area.

Feature-packed, The World’s End also has late night live music to diversify the atmosphere for those staying out late. At just 14 minutes’ drive from Northampton, it is a country haven not far from the town.

Good quality food although I only had Ham,egg & chips, Could have done with another item on plate eg Tomato, mushroom, peas. Limited choice of starters for me. We both had fishcake - very nice, Oives delicious. Seats too low.

Very good, but have got one grumble---all the (delicious) food came on one plate which I, and my son, could not ear. It was all in a bit of a jumbled pile!
PLEASE could you think about serving the vegetables and roasties on separate dishes!
If you could we would be back quite frequently. Had a great lunch with you
last monday, (using taste card) but sadly the restaurant was disappointing for Sunday Lunch for the problem we had!!

Great lunch. Very helpful, friendly and personable staff. The restaurant has a great interior and nice garden. Would recommend this pub/restaurant.

Rooms were very basic and the decor is tired. No water in the room, no tissues. No pad and pen. TV screen very small. Could be cleaner.
Food wise: Large portions served in the bar area. Restaurant had flood damage when I was there.

The food was wonderful as always. And the wait staff are great. But this place has no aircon and it was unbearably hot. Instead of staying for coffee like we normally do, we had to leave early just to cool down.

I’ll start with my main meal which was T-bone steak which I’ll have to say was cooked as I asked it to be done but that’s the good bit over the onion rings well well over fried the chips would large square and soggy the one mushroom I had also was overcooked as for my girlfriend she had lamb which was okay slightly undercooked a large Shalott onion which wasn’t very nice potato rusty also soggy the service was very good nice wine but as for the mail very poor not at all satisfied been to this establishment for five times and it has got Progressively worse unfortunately I would not recommend unless these issues were rectified the menu as without doubt diminished little better than standard pub grub and quite expensive gutted
