With plenty of windows, rustic wooden tables & several log fires warming the place up, The Woolpack is a cosy, country-style retreat. Refurbished to contemporary standards, this gastro pub serves a menu of modern British cuisine interwoven with Mediterranean influences.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Woolpack menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Woolpack bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Woolpack in Aylesbury is a 10-minute walk from Stoke Mandeville Railway Station.

Birthday meal for my daughter. Service was great. No waiting for drinks or ordering our food. Sons girlfriend is a vegetarian & her mushroom soup was the best she has had anywhere. Brie with chutney was delicious as was the chicken main course. Burger was a monster but my daughter really enjoyed it. My granddaughter had fish coujons which she completely finished. Too stuffed for dessert . Lovey meal

We were welcomed on arrival and seated in the restaurant. Service was prompt and polite. Food arrived quite quickly and was beautifully presented. Ruben our waiter was really chatty and nice.

Seems to be a lot of Fish on the menu this time around, not a massive fish fan so could potentially put few people off. Nice amount of decent puddings, but could do with a "less heavy" option, such as an eaton mess etc. I did order the strawberries & yoghurt, but they had ran out! I also like the little blue tea cup my pudding came out in :-)
