Restaurant description

A favourite London local dating back to the 1800s, The Windsor Castle is now a cosy gastro pub serving modern British cuisine. Dine in the cosy old-world-pub interior surrounded by vintage mismatched furnishings, or underneath the woven wicker shelter in the outdoor courtyard.

Wholesome, artisanal twists are weaved through the Windsor Castle menu, with offerings including hearty breakfasts, sterling Sunday roasts and gourmet sandwiches. Complete with recommendations of matching cask ales from The Windsor Castle pub’s mammoth cellar, indulge in chicken hot pot with bacon and pickled onions, or sea bass with chick peas and chorizo.

Old school puddings are a speciality at The Windsor Castle in London, with moreish favourites like brandy bread & butter pudding with buttermilk ice cream, or potted custard caramel with lavender shortbread. After dinner tipples, 18 on-top beers, ales and ciders are offered, as well as seasonal concoctions like fruit-filled Pimm’s, or steaming hot toddies.

Filled with cosy nooks and crannies, The Windsor Castle in Kensington brings quaint countryside dining to the heart of London. Notting Hill Gate Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

It was a Friday night so it was very busy and noisy. We went with the baby sleeping so not the best place for us. The food was OK but a little bit pricey for what you get. The garden is the best part of the pub. I'd recommend this for drinks with friends or colleagues after work.

We booked a table at Windsor Castle to celebrate a birthday of a friend and it was really the perfect place for it! We had a few drinks and dinner. Burger and roasts were delicious. Service was great and very friendly. They were also very attentive to our special requests. We will certainly return again!
