Really lovely lunch, we had the most lovely waitress, food was good, a nice table for 10 (6 adults and 4 children) tucked up by the window, excellent.
Food was very very nice, served on nice hot plates. Would highly recommend a visit. Good drinks range too.

Surrounded by a host of beauty spots, traditional country inn The Windhover resides in the rural Northamptonshire landscape. A vast beer garden is framed by the pub’s cream and olive exterior, while inside, scattered candles, an open hearth and traditional trinkets are littered throughout the dining room.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Windhover menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Brixworth Country Park is a 3-minute drive from The Windhover in Chapel Brampton, along with Pitsford Water reservoir.

We have eaten here a few times, the food was up to standard as usual. But this Saturday evening the service seemed very slow and it was not busy. apart from that it was excellent.

Starters were lobster and prawns (excellent), pate (very good) and pork scratchings (good but a bit expensive for the content). Onto the mains ... two roasts, turkey and beef which were really tasty and the chicken and leek pie which was also delicious. Loved the spring onion mash. Service was perfect and also a couple of good ciders were available. A slight problem was the noise in the crowded dining room from so many people chatting. Just the acoustics of a rustic setting !

    Very modern but traditional setting.
Service was excellent and good range of ales.
Pies were delicious as were the burgers. Portions perfect for starter, main and puddings!

Had a very nice meal - good value for the money and the service was prompt. Much better experience than the last time I visited which was a Saturday evening. It seems as if the staff cope much better during the week rather than weekends, where I have had 2 bad experiences both with poor service and poor quality food. Last Friday could not have been more different - it was excellent. It is a pity that the service/standard is not more consistent but hopefully this has been addressed.
