Usually a lovely place to eat but the Sunday roast was very disappointing. The Yorkshire pudding was hard and dried out and the roast potatoes like bullets and so dry. The meat was lovely but overall I couldn't recommend the roast. We were given a discount on the bill which was nice but I'd rather have had an edible meal. Good service but shame about the food!

Service was slow. Table booked for 7.15pm, starters arrived 7.55pm. Not busy, only six or so other tables.
Staff were friendly, but not very attentive especially considering it was not busy. My husband had to go to the bar at one point to order a drink.
Food was nice. Experience not as good as previous visits.

We booked for an early lunch for my mothers 95th birthday . No drinks orders were taken . I had to go to the bar to be told someone would come. We ordered and were told after 35mins there was no chicken breast due to a wedding the previous night. The waitress should have been aware of what was not available. The olives and whitebait were good. The wait for the main course was very long , so much so I had to ask where our food was ( we had a 12.15 table so there should not have been a delay) The subsequent duck and halloumi burgers were both cold, the halloumi has a merest whisper of humous on it , was cold and no garnish , only some cheap chips thrown on the side. My duck was tepid at best . The hottest thing on the plate was the plate itself. we sent them back . Given my mother , who is not one to complain was eating her salmon starter ( as her main) it was impossible to reorder mains for ourselves.
The drinks were deducted and the returned mains.
The outside tables were scruffy ( read scruffy not shabby chic..) and the table beside us were also discussing the quality of the food and the length of time to be served.
The staff were not proactive, and frankly I thought the whole 'feast and frolic' branding a complete joke of middle class cambridge aspirational boho nonsense. I've eaten in most restaurants in Cambridge over my 57 years, but your prices are not matched by service or quality. Overall style above substance, very poor staff training, and the whimsy of your styling pretentious at best.... I was considering Tripadvisor given the ruinous birthday for my mother but whats the point , theres obviously enough moneyed punters out there to make the exercise worthwhile...won't be back

Very disappointed. Our order was placed and after some time we were told one was not available and had to re order,. Starters arrived and were OK we had to wait over an hour for our main course. When they arrived the Sea Bass was very poor and my partner was able to eat very little of it. I noticed a lady on another table sent her's back and we should have done the same. The service was very poor, at one time two of the staff were chatting and drinking tea / coffee behind the bar apparently taking no interest in the diners. To be fair we were not charged for the main courses . We try to eat out for lunch most week ends and were looking for another place to add to our list it will not be The Willow Tree.

We like the Willow tree at Bourn. Quirky pub, good food with a sort of seasonal menu.
On this visit food was great but service was poor. There was a party in the teepee and it felt like staff couldnt keep up.
We had to remind the staff for our bread, which arrived after we'd already started our starters. Then again for drinks - no one came to ask if we wanted drinks refreshed. It was impossible trying to catch their attention as they were so busy and then finally after stating we wanted to see the dessert menu, it never appeared. After waiting 20 mins for it we called it a night and went home.
We have eaten here a few times and the food has always been good. We've experienced mixed service before but on this occasion it was dire! Sort it out team as its things like this that ruin a good reputation!
Portions were on the small side on this visit too
