Lovely gastro pub with superb food and lovely beer. Nice lunch, and we will return for dinner. Staff helpful and smiling. You won't regret your visit! (There are some good local walks too!)

In the past I've always had a fantastic experience here but Saturday wasn't so good. The staff that were they were excellent but they were so busy they couldn't give top service and we were left waiting for things. The restaurant was very noisy. The candles on our table also burned out and weren't replaced, which was disappointing as the ambience wasn't as nice and it was dark

We were a party of nine and decided to have a celebration lunch, as we won some business awards. We had three course meal and everyone went very quiet when the food arrived, each course was delivered in good time and complete. The food was all very tasty and lots of choice. The prawns in mozzerella was very nice and different to what one would expect. Dessert of Bailey Cheesecake was simply gorgeous! So creamy and full of taste! Its always nice to finish a good meal with a nice coffee and we were not disappointed! Well done Willow Tree!

Beautiful setting, love the lighting in the evenings. Staff were lovely, food was lush. I've always avoided blue cheese as I hate it. But the blue cheese sauce with the chicken dish was amazing. My new favourite place to eat!

I met a colleague dor a business lunch. Staff were attentive but respected we were talking. Food, Venison pie, was excellent, probably the best I have had.

It was my first time, I know you by reputation and of course we use no. 77 regularly for take-aways, so was sure the quality would be good. The team were very accomodating with my request to have an external caterer supply the 50th Birthday cake which was really appreciated and they helped to make it a complete surprise!
Ambience, decor is spot on, comfortable yet stylish, contemporary yet familiar. Lots and lots of lovely little touches ie. the Specials Board gettng 'rolled to the table'
The food was excellent, from the sharing platter to the mains and although I didn't partake, the 'sticky toffee pudding was a big hit and looked wonderful. Great value, as the quality was excellent and the portions generous. The only reason you didn't get 5 stars was primarily that the table where we sat (which I really liked) was negatively affected by the low winter sun. A couple of the the diners on our table had to move seats/swap to get out of the sun in their eyes or how hot it was on their back/necks. The hostess/maitre d' (sorry I couldn't remember her name) did mentio that the curtains were being cleaned? it's a nice problem to have? a warm/sunny November day but it would be good to be able to moderate exposure to it? One last thing, on Sunday's as you do Sunday roasts, there can be a time pressure on finishin up ahead of the next sitting. That said, we didn't feel rushed by the staff, it was just the initial 'taking of the orders' felt as if we had to get in ahead of a couple of big tables because we would then be struggling for time? I will certainly be back again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends, family and work colleagues.

Overall food was okay. Had a steak ciabatta. The ciabatta bread was uninteresting. Would have preferred bread to have had a crispy crust. Side salad was just lettuce. Again not very palatable.

This was my best visit to the Willow Tree! Not sure if it was the owner on front of house but there was definitely a different vibe from day time service. Food was great as usually - I had haddock and chips with mushy peas. Beautifully presented, good size portion and ratio of chips to fish was spot on. The batter yielded under my fork with a satisfying crunch and the fish was beautifully cooked. My friend had the chicken with mushrooms, which although I don’t like mushrooms, looked great.

I like how his place dares to be different. Lovely delicate cut glass wine glasses, rather than the standard effort from ikea most places default to these days. I like those too, but these are prettier. The team really do know how to create a lovely atmosphere.
