Tucked away just on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Wimborne Minster, The Willett Arms is a restored local pub serving a menu of unpretentious modern British food. In summer, enjoy a lazy pint in the sun-drenched beer garden; in colder weather, curl up by the log fire in the bar & restaurant, which also boast rustic furniture and a large L-shaped bar.
Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Willett Arms menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.
A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Willett Arms cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.
The Willett Arms in Wimborne is a 12-minute drive from Poole Rail Station.

Good warm welcome, good service, order taken but then it all went wrong - we waited for well over an hour to get the main course and it wasn't good when it finally arrived and after we complained. Ladies toilets were not very hygienic with black mould growing in some places.

Staff very helpful and pleasant, but from there on things went downhill! Our drinks order was delt with fairly quickly and our meal order taken, three of our group wanted starters, which took an age to come. When they had finished those, there was another long wait for the mains. The plates were cold, but the food was hot. We all had the Christmas meal and the only veg was sprouts and red cabbage and onions. Lots of people don't like sprouts or red cabbage! The roast potatoes were lovely though, and the turkey very moist and gravy tasty. We had to ask for water three times, before it was delivered. We also had to chase our deserts as we had to be away by 3.30pm. Our table was booked for 1pm. It was very busy but I think the kitchen needed more help!! Deserts were good

More style than substance. Really disappointed, so much so this is the first on-line review I have ever done. Food took about an hour from order to be served. To be fair it was nice but luke-warm to cold. We were so hungry it wasn't worth saying anything at the time - just wanted to eat something. It was very busy and there did not seem to be a lot of staff. At the end, we struggled to find someone to pay - our waitress was out having a 'vap'. Far to many pubs/restaurants in the area to waste going back to see if a 'next time' would be better.

We have dined here a couple of times before and therefore had expectations of a good meal. We weren't disappointed and despite the fact that it was a busy Sunday lunchtime both the service and the food were well up to standard and personally the specials starter of scallops were really excellent. Importantly our expectations of the time to delivery of the food were well managed.

Very friendly staff . Even though you were very busy they never stopped smiling . I had steak ( the chips were superb ) & my wife had a pizza .Then we had the house sharing platter for dessert . We highly recommend it . Very enjoyable meal .

Newly refurbished, so restaurant was very welcoming. Received great service from waitress - Stephanie. However, food was over priced for what we had. Wagyu burger, it was nice but £15.95 for what is essentially a burger is WAY too much. As I say it was nice but I have had nice burgers at places like Carter & Millers, who don't charge as much. Why did I have it as it was so expensive ... I was curious as to what would be the justification to charge so much.
