The food was very good, my wife was a bit upset there was no mini burgers as shown on the website also everyone we know who’s been has had them ??The best food by far was the pork pie, unfortunately the warm ale let it down for me, the room was a bit chilly we all thought.

Service was brilliant as always and a lovely venue, but was disappointed with the afternoon tea I have been before and they have changed form the little sandwiches to chicken wings which were cold which I expected to be warm and just was generally lacking a little umph on the afternoon tea... felt very thrown together.

Very good Sunday Roast. The beef was very tender and there was a good selection of vegetables served.

We came for alternative afternoon tea for the second time and it was a little disappointing. Gone we’re the amazing pigs in blankets and scotch egg to be replaced with duck sausages and chicken wings.....poor substitutes in the opinion of our party, they were also spicy which two of our party don’t like. The service and cooking of the food was amazing as always at the Wild Boar but the actual contents of the afternoon tea were disappointing.

We had a pleasant journey to the Boar's Head on a sunny, but cold, Autumn day. It was lovely to be welcomed by a real fire. Though we booked the 'alternative afternoon tea' we actually considered it our lunch. We were quickly served with a drink - two of our group opted for a glass of Prosecco while the third chose the beer bat - all three beers were good but the IPA was judged the stand out brew. This was followed but a large, three tiered wooden platter brimming with goodies. A selection of savouries included fish goujons, smoked duck sausages, chicken wings and a beef slider in a soft brioche bun. All were tasty and were accompanied by small buckets of red hot chips and little pots of sauce, which was a nice extra. After a short break we moved onto the sweet treats - the scones and home made damson jam were particularly good and there was also a brownie and cupcake along with generous quantities of tea and coffee. The staff were lovely - attentive, but not intrusive. The whole experience was very enjoyable ... Thank you to all concerned.

Great afternoon tea ?? only thing I wasn’t happy about was one chicken wing and want cooked I did say something and I would Imagine it was a manger who came and told me it was the the marinade that had made it that colour, I’m not silly but I can tell if something is cooked or not. I would of taken this further but as my parents had driven 300 miles I didn’t want to make a fuss.

Very different experience of afternoon tea. Everything lovely except the crackling which was greasy. They did apologise after we mentioned it.Vegetarian option was really good. We had 5 booked 3 veggie and 2 non veggie and mixed them.up. think veggie option was nicer food. Will definitely go back
