What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £13.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Named after Lady Katherine Ferrers, the highwaywoman active in the area during the 17th century, The Wicked Lady is a refurbished country-style pub serving modern British cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. With vaulted ceilings, leather armchairs & a sleek bar, this pub is a rustic retreat in the quaint village of Wheathampstead.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Wicked Lady menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Wicked Lady bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
Close to St Albans, The Wicked Lady in Wheathampstead is an 11-minute drive from Harpenden Rail Station.

Staff very pleasant, however the main course took nearly an hour to come. I know they were quite busy but did take quite a time. Food was OK, but could have been a little warmer.

The venue was excellent! The staff were extremely attentive. The food, God the food, was awesome!!!! My only negative ( very minor) was the seat height in relation to the table height, I'm vertically challenge, but this didn't spoil the enjoyment. 10 out of 10 from me. Thank you to all the staff.

Great evening meal. Even though this was our first visit we felt like regulars. Our birthday boy even got a free glass of prosecco-totally unexpected!. Food and service were excellent. We will definitely be going again
