What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £13.95 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Named after Lady Katherine Ferrers, the highwaywoman active in the area during the 17th century, The Wicked Lady is a refurbished country-style pub serving modern British cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. With vaulted ceilings, leather armchairs & a sleek bar, this pub is a rustic retreat in the quaint village of Wheathampstead.
With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Wicked Lady menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.
The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Wicked Lady bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.
Close to St Albans, The Wicked Lady in Wheathampstead is an 11-minute drive from Harpenden Rail Station.

Very good food. It was quiet in the restaurant on hard to judge how it would cope at a busier time, but couldn't fault the food at all.

Lovely Sunday evening but felt it seemed to close quite early for a bank holiday - thankfully were not rushed but when you are the only table left we felt we should leave

We had a great Sunday lunch everything cooked spot on. When we arrived we were shown straight to our table no hanging around. Service was very good and the wait for the food was about right.
