Set against the idyllic backdrop of Edgbaston and Chad Valley, The White Swan Pub is a cosy retreat including log fires and comfortable armchairs. This refurbished country pub offers diners a modern British menu, and a large selection of wines, ales and lagers.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The White Swan menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest seasonal ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The White Swan bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The White Swan in Birmingham is just a 5-minute drive from Five Ways Station.

Ambience was very good. The food choice was okay. The service was slow, felt. I was being hurried along. Food ordered was good, but expensive.

A great venue for lunch. Several interesting beers on tap and a great menu to boot. I was tempted to order the burger with the lobster side, but plumped for the very nice gammon instead. My beloved had the crab and lobster fish cakes. They too were nice, but it was difficult to taste either the crab or the lobster. My nephew had the duck salad and really enjoyed it.

I booked for 8 of us for a celebratory meal for my sisters wedding anniversary. I wanted to book somewhere with plenty of choice on the menu to suit us all and somewhere more upmarket than the average pub, without being overpriced or pretentious. The White Swan fulfilled all of my expectations and we all enjoyed our meals. The decor was cosy, the staff were friendly and the food was very tasty. The meals were all good sized portions, served at the perfect temperature. Extra vegetables and gravy were supplied promptly and without any fuss when asked for. I have been many times before and will definitely be going back.

Our first visit to the White Swan but definitely not our last. We dined with friends and we all commented how we enjoyed the food. The rib eye steaks we're cooked perfectly as was the sea bass. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This was my second visit to the White Swan. My first visit was a lunchtime and the service and food were great. The only complaint I had is that it was very cold in the restaurant and myself and other diners had to sit in coats. My second visit was a Saturday evening once again it was very cold in the restaurant and we had a table on the outer edge of the restaurant near the door. There was also a private party in a separate room but the music was so loud that it was difficult to relax and talk and enjoy our meal. We asked to be moved but we were told that was the only table, no apologies for how cold it was. The food was average and not very hot we had ordered sides of vegetables that when arrived were not what we had ordered by the time our sides that we had ordered arrived we had eaten half of our meals, if we had waited till the correct sides arrived our meal would have been cold. The service was slow and we were left to look at dirty plates in between courses. The desserts that we ordered of crumble and custard were also lukewarm by this time the staff we more interested in cleaning up and laying the tables for the following day which was noisey and not at all conducive to a relaxing meal. We would have liked to have had a coffee and a final drink at our table but we didn’t get the chance to request this as our bill arrived without us asking for it, giving us the impression that the staff wanted us to hurry up and leave. It’s a shame great menu and lovely interior but very disappointing meal and service.

Rather pretentious overly complicated food with more effort spent on how to it looked than how it tasted. Inexplicably busy.
