The service was good, friendly and welcoming, but professional also.
The food was nice. I had hunters chicken, would have preferred more salad rather than just 2 tomatoes and less chips, but that is a personal think. Was well presented and well cooked.
Would definitely go back.

Once a family home, and later a local shop, The White Lion Allesley now runs as a watering hole and restaurant in the Coventry countryside. The anterior gravel courtyard caters for al fresco dining, while inside, exposed oak beams and a traditional hearth attest to the pub’s steep history.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The White Lion menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The White Lion in Warwickshire is home to a network of rural trails just off the beaten path, while Coundon Hall Sports Club is only a 2-minute drive away.

Booked the table for 3 adults online for 20:15, but arrived at 18:45 for pre dinner drinks, lovely to have an area with comfy chairs for this purpose. All the staff were very friendly and obviously very busy, the restaurant was full when we took our seats. We all ordered the Wagyu beefburger which came with skin on french fries onion rings and a little pot of tomato salsa, I had my burger without the brioch bun, but with bacon relish. The downside, all of us felt that the Wagyu burger was overcooked and dry as a bone, mine, without the bun, had 3 small lettuce leaves and 3 thin slices of tomato, but no mayonnaise dressing like the others had so was like eating cardboard. It took a long time to arrive, as I said they were very busy, but I think this contributed to the poor cooking of the burger. On the plus side, the french fries were good and the onion rings were the best I've ever had, but we were so disappointed, we ordered this burger because Wagyu beef is supposed to be the best, most succulent beef and for this you do pay a premium, as we did, this was worse than the cheapest frozen burger ever.
When the waiter came to take the plates away, he asked how we enjoyed our meal and I did tell him how dry the burger was, he said he would let the chef know. We finished our meal with a dessert, the choice was very good and we all enjoyed our choices, I had vanilla cheesecake with a carrot cake base, it came with fresh strawberries and a jus, I would have liked a bit of cream with it, but hey, minor point, if I'd asked for it I'm sure I'd have got it.
They gave us £10 off the bill for the poor burger, which was good of them although we would have preferred a perfectly cooked burger

Nice surroundings, friendly staff, had to wait quite a long time to be served the main course. The sirloin steak was cooked just right but quantity of the meal was poor for the price.

We booked a table, on arrival we were welcomed to the dining room restaurant, the staff were friendly. There was a wonderful choice of menu choices, we opted to for a Sunday lunchtime meal of 28 day roast beef, with an addition of cauliflower cheese. The meal was thoroughly enjoyable and the drink service excellent, with a good choice of ales for my husband & son.
We opted for a dessert, mouth watering choices which were very enjoyable, we chose the apple and sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate brownie & ice cream.
Overall a really nice place to dine with excellent menu choices, which were excelllently cooked and presented, so well done Catering team. The service by the staff was excellent, it was a very enjoyable Sunday lunch, last meal with son before going back to Uni.
We will be back again, and look forward to another enjoyable meal with family and or friends.

Very busy. We waited for over an hour from our booking time to get our main meal. Luckily we had ordered olives and bread to keep us going. No gluten free bread and youngest member asked for id to get a g and t with our starter. Have been before and service was much better. Food was ok - have had better here.

Arrived 5mins early then guided to our table and waited for half an hour before drinks and starters/mains were ordered. After having had our starters waited another half hour or more before mains were served. Gravy was poured already over our meals when it shud have been in a jug according to menu. Asked waiter for bill .....never came so had to pay at the till. No tip given and wouldn't go back again although it was a lovely x cosy pub. Might come just for drinks as service be quicker.
