Inside a beautiful and historic 15th-century Tudor hotel, Sadler's Brasserie at The White Hart is a sophisticated slice of traditional British dining. Head Chef Matthew Briddon brings experience from some of the country's top kitchens, while the plush furnishings and traditional décor create a comfortable, inviting setting.

Classic British recipes are given inventive tweaks throughout the Sadler's Brasserie menu, all using the finest ingredients. To start, there are bold flavours in options like the pickled beetroot with truffle-whipped goats’ cheese, candied hazelnuts and beetroot essence, as well as hay-smoked salmon pot with horseradish, chive crème fraîche and caviar. Hearty mains include confit belly of pork with crispy pork wontons, and fillet of beef rossini with Madeira truffle jus.

Afternoon tea at Sadler's Brasserie Wells is a real treat – there are sumptuous finger sandwiches, classic scones with jams and clotted cream, as well as other baked treats, and loose leaf teas. There is a select wine list also, with vintages from around the globe.

A truly historic setting filled with traditional comforts, Sadler's Brasserie at The White Hart is moments from Wells Cathedral, and 30 minutes' drive from Bruton Rail Station.

Wonderfully smiley staff. Beautiful decor. And, the menu was simple, yet not complicated, and with variety. Perfect for a light lunch yet feeling special. And, wonderful value.

Originally presented dishes. Really good. Desserts good but not as exciting as the entrees and mains. Service excellent.
I was lunching alone and the meal was perfectly paced. Pleasantly decorated restaurant. 3 courses and two large glasses of wine, total cost £40.

The choices on the menu were all very tempting, we had difficulty choosing what to have. There were 5-6 options for each course which meant we knew whatever we chose would be freshly cooked. The food was very very good. Each plate was very well presented and tasted delicious. The service was good but everything came too quickly, we would have liked a break in between courses, with food coming so quickly it could give the impression that you wanted us out of the restaurant as fast as possible. The decor is rather uninspiring, more 1988 than 2018. Over all we came for dinner and the food was so good that we will definitely come again and will recommend Sadlers Brasserie to our friends.

The Restaurant is lovely, really quirky, nice staff, lovely food. Our table was a bit dark! so asked for another T light, but they did not have any spare??! and had run out! They said they were waiting for a delivery? I was tempted to go out and buy some! I thought someone from the staff in the afternoon would just have gone out and got a little bag. It makes such a difference in atmosphere to a room, especially where some parts are on the dark side, by the screen. Its such a little thing, but a good restaurant like Sadlers should not run out of something so small!
