The mail that we had was nice, apart from ordering a second drink to have never received it. We went here as it was our 25th wedding anniversary, only to have been told by staff that they were sorry for not making it special as they had not enough staff on.

Ambience was lovely. My friend and I had a table at the window. On the whole a nice experience. The lunch menu could do with a few more main dishes to choose from. The service was very slow. Looked like they could do with more staff. My friend had the fish and chips and I had scamp and chips. Both were beautifully cooked and were really nice. We had coffee after and my friend ordered black coffee with hot milk on the side, I had a latte. Originally asked for a vanilla latte but was told there was no vanilla, and did not get the choice of having any other flavour.

Service a bit too quick for our liking but food served hot. We were finished in just an hour.

Starter tasty but could have been warmer. Main course very nice. Too much sticky toffee pudding. A half portion would have been sufficient. The Act while very good only performed for 1 hour which was a little disappointing. Expected there to be two parts to the show.

Not impressed at all. We ordered two tuna sandwiches with salad and tortilla chips. The bread was thin and falling apart and the tuna and mayo didn’t have a nice taste to it. We tried to complain but there was a conference on in the hotel and subsequently a large queue at the bar. On our way out there was a female eating a sandwich on what looked to be lovely bloomer bread. When you are charging in excess of £8 for a sandwich it would be nice to know some effort had been made to make it presentable.

I asked for water and it failed to arrive. Steak very thin for the price.
