First opened as a public house in 1850, The Warren is a real country-style pub, warmed by stone-fired ovens and a roaring log fire. Refurbished to modern standards, with cheerful interiors, leather sofas, a chrome bar and a sizeable beer garden, it serves British gastro pub cuisine.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Warren menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest seasonal ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include Mediterranean mezze, seared chicken breast with sweet potato rosti & buttered British beans, and spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar at The Warren restaurant showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at the bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Warren in Berkshire is a 7-minute drive from Wokingham Railway Station.

Improved menu since last visit, excellent service. Prompt with questions & suggestions, knowledgeable waitress esp about dietary needs, good value, toilet had run out if soap.

    Lovely meal and location

Good table and pleasant waiting staff but poor quality food. Specifically fish and chips, gammon, egg, pineapple and chips. Fish was wet and soggy, chips were not crispy. We didn’t mention to the waitress but not really interested. Very small strip of pineapple with the gammon. Salad was fine. Will not visit a second time.

2nd time I’ve been, food excellent as always. Great service, having owned restaurants myself it’s good to see the staff working together as a team.

Visited The Warren twice within 2 weeks, although good we felt the food and service was not as good a second time.
Would probably visit again but would hope the food and service would be consistant

The food was delicious particularly the fish finger sandwich. Everything very tasty and perfectly cooked. Waiting staff also excellent. Only problem was long wait for second course. I think the poor chef was on his own in the kitchen but he coped admirably.

Overall a good experience - would have been excellent but we were squashed on a table between two others which msg it difficult to even sit in at the table.
