Set in a building originally intended to be a temperance house in the 19th century, The Victoria in Barnt Green is a cosy village pub & restaurant boasting a spacious beer garden for sun-soaked dining in the summer months. Inside, roaring fires, rustic furniture & a buzzing bar warm the place up, while tasty modern British food is served alongside an eclectic range of drinks.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Victoria menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Victoria in Barnt Green cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Victoria in Barnt Green, Birmingham, is a 7-minute walk from Barnt Green Rail Station.

An enjoyable experience. Relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff. Enjoyed battered cheese and battered cod enjoyed by party member. Do think that wine is a bit pricey for a gastro pub though - around £8 for a large glass! The overall cost of the night for four was the only negative and would make some people a bit hesitant to eat there too often.

Pork Belly was a let down. Very small portion of pork belly, portion of scallops small and not worth paying the extra for. Wouldn't have it again.

The food was first rate. My husband, myself and our Japanese guest enjoyed the meal very much. The only drawback was being placed so near to the very noisy bar on a Friday evening. Excellent service, if a little slow, especially with the dessert . . .

Staff service and surroundings fab but the cod was greasy and tastlessas were the lobster and crab cakes. Tgese were very mushy and could have been salty mashed potatoes. Firsttime bad meal so just one of those things. Will visit again though.
