Excellent service, waitress was very attentive, especially to my elderly parents.

Since 1851, The Travellers Rest near Dunstable has been offering well-loved British refreshments to its guests, and it continues to do so in a stunning rural location, close to the River Ouzel. With classic whitewashed walls, exposed beams and brickwork, and rustic decorations, The Travellers Rest is a pastoral haven, with seating by the cosy fireplace and in the pretty beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Travellers Rest menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Travellers Rest ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings at this Edlesborough venue include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

While in a remote and tranquil destination, The Travellers Rest is just 7 minutes’ driving to Dunstable.

The staff are friendly and the surroundings comfortable and bright. We have been regular visitors since 1998. The food was good and as the Filit Steak is a fav it is a bonus(not many places do this) then it all seemed to go down hill, things on the menu not available, poor service,we stopped going for a while.Decided to give it another chance a few weeks ago and were pleased with what we found. I have to say that on Saturday,my steak was not good. Very tough and quite rubbery. The staff were apologetic and offered free drinks,we declined.Hope it will be a one off,as we are still going to give it another go.

I was surprised to find that fish pie, sausages, scampi were not on the menu. I ordered bacon rib as it sounded interesting but when it was delivered to my table, it was so dry and I had great trouble to cut it so it was taken back.

Good service. Perfect gap between courses. Delicious sticky toffee pudding, which I didn't really have room for, but managed to squeeze in!

Booked via bookatable ,on our arrival no record of our booking but they squeezed us in. As a result service was poor as not enough staff. Gave up waiting to order desserts & coffees , paid & left. Staff were working so hard just not enough of them !

Dissapointing meal. Had better there before. Table was 6.30 had run out of roast dinners it was Sunday. They still had roast turkey which was OK but no pigs in blankets or stuffing. Garlic bread was burnt. Pudding melba mess was literally a runny mess on a warm plate. Not one of there good days.

Excellent as always. Very good service.
The restaurant was busy but the staff were very good. No long waits between courses
The mini pudding which comes with tea coffee etc is a good deal. The pudding is a good size.
Will be back again as usual

Came to eat at the restaurant with my family to remember my mother-in-law who enjoyed coming to Travellers Rest before her death 4 years ago.
Food was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Will come again.
