Very enjoyable tea although it would have been nice if we had been able to select the fillings in our sandwiches.

The Townhouse Restaurant at Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor blends Scottish favourites with modern European dishes. The innovative dishes are crafted using fresh, local produce and can be savoured with an elegant cocktail or fine wine from the bar.
The Townhouse menu showcases traditional Scottish dishes, with gourmet touches and Mediterranean influences. Start with local duck egg with black pudding and cauliflower purée, or the exotic salmon and chorizo fishcakes with sweet chili and lime sauce. Main dishes are led by the very Scottish roulade of chicken with haggis, potatoes, and malt whisky sauce, whilst other enticing options include sustainable coley fillet with purple Shetland potatoes and chervil and chardonnay cream, and pumpkin tortellini with oyster mushrooms, spinach and parmesan sauce.
Amongst the tempting handmade desserts are raspberry and coconut shortcake, and lime and mint buttermilk panna cotta with poached lavender pear. Characterised by an informal atmosphere and subtle sophistication, The Townhouse Edinburgh is decorated in rich red and white, with dark wooden floors and sleek wooden chairs.
A short stroll from the castle and the cultural heart of the city, The Townhouse at Hilton Edinburgh is a 3-minute walk from Haymarket Train Station.

Very good experience, from the initial booking to paying the bill. Location was good, customer service was excellent, nice touch with the chef asking our opinion. Food was great and the time in between courses was just right.

We ate at 6pm so expected the restaurant to be quiet. It lacked some ambiance, but that might improve later in the evening. We went for the two meals + prosecco for £39. It was the full menu on offer which is better than some places who give you a reduced choice. A couple of items had a surcharge, but that is ok. I had crayfish and salmon to start, tasty but felt the salmon was overcooked. The main I had was a haggis burger and fries, huge and very good. I finished off with a creme brule, which was creamy and delicious. The proseccos are what they are and went down a treat and as my husband does not drink I had the pleasure of them both. The service was excellent especially a young girl with a foreign accent an an infectious laugh.

The food was fabulous, and lots of it. We had a deal 2 people for 29.99 with two glasses of wine. Two courses and a glass of wine each.
Great choice and hot fresh food. Staff were lovely and helpful.
