Great food & service but overall a bit pricey. My starter was King prawn, avocado & chilli on brown toast - great meal but not spicy enough, there were chilies but couldn’t taste them. Main course of shellfish bouillabaisse was excellent.

i ordered the prawn and avocado toast which was fantastic. the lirac rhone wine truly did kick the pants off any of the comparable bordeaux wines, as indicated on themenu. the chateaubriand was scrumptious, but i was mistaken in reading the price was 38£ the waiter said that was true, but later it turned out it was really 88£! still it was a great meal, and i gave the leftover arer center meat to a dog, who never ate so well in its life! if the chef had burnt the steak i would have asked they burn him at the stake! finally this was a sunny sunset time and it was a bit too sunny and the view was kind of outglared.

The service was first class, lunch menu was a little limited but cooked and presented beautifully. We’ve dined many times before and it is generally first class with a wide and varied a la carte menu to choose from, this was the first lunch we’d had. My only 2 niggles were: I ordered treacle and rhubarb sponge and custard for dessert, the sponge was wonderful as was the rhubarb but the custard was chilled, not what your looking for with a hot sponge pudding, however the custard tasted superb. My second is that they automatically add a £1 subscription to a charity, now I’m all for giving funds to good causes and I do, every month I donate substantial (for me) amounts to two charities that particularly chime with me. My feeling is that I’d rather give a good amount to a few that a little to many, but my point is that they presume to do it and it irks me.
